I went to renew my permit, and I noticed that my weight last summer was 185.

I am currently 187.

I got back from college 212.

I've gotten back to the starting point! (almost) And I'm still losing!

Sorry, just had to get that out somewhere.

If anyone else wants to be an attention whore on this thread, feel free. :D

Congrats! I have had weight issues for a long time. I lost 70 lbs and got pregnant with my son (thanks, Weight Watchers!) but gradually gained it back. One thing I'd really like to do when I can is go back to WW. It really helped me.

But way to go!

Wow--that's practically biggest loser weight loss! Did you do anything special?

PL, I've been thinking about using the points from WW to lose my baby weight this fall. It's free, and I've known some people who've had success with it.

I've kept off almost 50 pounds I lost a year ago using an iPhone app/web app called LoseIt. LoseIt.com. Absolutely free, and helps me a lot.

I still need to drop more, but trying not stress over it.

I developed Type II diabetes being too fat. So I lost thirty pounds on the South Beach Diet. I've gained about ten of it back and am thinking of saving up for liposuction. I hate dieting!

I use loseit!

I just keep track of it on my computer tho

I'm not sure what WW is doing these days. Even when I was there, they changed their points strategies, although overall they kept the points system. Like anything else, it's a matter of portion control and exercise. I found that writing everything down was a big help -- you almost always have more than you think if you try to just keep a mental count, so you're estimating low but eating high, if you will.

I still have my WW stuff and probably some points calculators and books that tell you how many points per serving of various foods. I know some point values have changed but I don't think drastically. I also know that in the past I've searched and people have figured out the equation involving calories, fat and fiber that gives you the points, but then they take them down after WW finds and asks them.

I think WW is one of the best programs out there, if you want a program, because it's not a diet. I don't mean to sound like a shill for them, but it really is about changing (or maybe adapting) your approach to eating. You can eat pretty much anything you want on WW -- you just have to account for it.

Mr Penn lost enough weight and kept it off long enough that he became a lifetime member. I hadn't gotten quite that far, but I'm convinced the weight loss was a primary reason I was able to get pregnant -- before that, I'd had a lot of irregular cycles, etc. In fact, I didn't even think I was pregnant at first; missing a cycle was no big deal. I mentioned to my mom about feeling tired, or an upset stomach or whatever and she was the one who said do you think you could be pregnant. But nothing had happened with enough regularity or severity to make me think pregnancy.

I think if you take that crow off your shoulder you'll probably lose another couple of lbs...

Sorry, I'm in a strange mood right now.

I lost over 30 lbs in about a month and a half, a while back. Hyperthyroid. I would not recommend it.

Vouch, I won't talk about it, just know you'll be cold.

I know the feeling.
In my case it was a throat cancer and 40 lbs or so in 4 weeks or so.
I do not recommend it was a means of loosing weight although it is undoubtedly effective.

The most important thing for me was finding the Motivation (with a capital M). I've gotten motivated before, but it only ever helped me drop a few pounds before losing hope or interest.

Lose it does the same thing, emphasizing portion control and exercise, but I don't even check in anymore. The only feature I still use is the time graph showing me my progress. I have a general idea of how many calories I can consume, but I don't stress out if I go over on occasion.

I got Motivated when I got back from college because I found out that we were going to Cancun in December. I looked in the mirror and realized that I was getting started on a double chin for the first time in my life. :(

Still think it's strange though. Guys weren't able to motivate me, my parents weren't able to motivate me. It took the thought of being in a swimsuit in Cancun to get me to drop 25 pounds.

Well done with your loss!

I got told my blood sugar was within a gnats knacker of me getting the Diabetes achievement about 5 months ago. Scared the crap out of me, I don't mind telling you.

Since then I've lost 45 pounds and my sugar is back into "healthy" territory. I've got about another 45 pounds to lose before I'm down to a weight that I'm happy with. If I could do it in the next 5 months (for xmas) I'd be ecstatic, but I really doubt it will happen.

I put my success entirely down to myfitnesspal on my Android phone. It's one of these barcode scanning apps, so it's surprisingly easy to keep track of things.

This is probably because overweight people still get laid.

The worst part is losing motivation because of how long it takes. With all of those fad diets saying you'll drop 40 pounds in eight weeks, its frustrating to move at a slower (healthier) pace.

It took me a little less than three months to lose 25 pounds. And for about three weeks I wouldn't drop under 190 because I hit a plateau of some sort. It was pretty distressing.

Thankfully I haven't hit that yet but I had the (dubious) advantage of having a huge amount to lose in the first place (I only recently came under 300lbs). It can make the first chunk easier to lose but makes it even more disheartening when you plateau.

I'm fully expecting a bitch of a flatline in about 10 pounds, mainly because that's where I remember plateauing about ten years ago.

I lost ten pounds very easily, in about two weeks.

The reason I gained so much weight is in college I had a very bad habit of bingeing while I watched movies. I always wanted something to snack on. So I'd eat entire bags of peach gummi rings, or cans of chocolate frosting with a spoon, or bags of barbecue chips, or curly fries from the cafeteria.

You get the idea.

I lost the first ten pounds so quick because my body wasn't used to me consuming less than 4000+ calories a day. It slowed down a lot after the first ten pounds, but I think that losing the first ten so fast was what helped me stay on track. Bingeing was my major vice, along with snacking. So at parties I tend to binge still. Each time I have a get-together it sets my diet back a week. I'm trying to fix that.

Looking' good, girl! (so I assume) :)

Congratulations. You'll live longer and write more literature.
