I am officially a Nonna!
My daughter delivered a 9pound 2 ounce baby girl this morning at 6am. It has been a long night for all of us!
And during the delivery, she was pushing so hard she wrenched my bad arm and my elbow 'popped'. (Back to the doc for me.)
It's all good though - mum and bub are doing well.
:D

Congratulations WQ; hope mother and child thrive

Something good and happy at last on this doom and gloom thread

Where be doom and his mate gloom?....You want to see doom and gloom come to work with me...they are offering voluntary retrenchments...the hack and slash is on...

Happy nonna to WQ...yes they do grow up fast.

My mum celebrated her 85th birthday last month, she is a great grandmother to several now, the youngest is nearly 3. I'm going to a 21st next month for another family member and I remember carrying her as a baby... so yep they do grow up fast.

Wow I wander off for a while and come back to find we have a baby!!! Congrats WQ!!

Hope everyone is having a good week.

My daughter turns 18 next month. It really doesn't seem that long........

I hope you are safe from the hatchet, Mr Elf! :rose:

Mr Elf I have been thro' that experience (after 23 years service) and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

But hey be happy that you are able to smile and live in the lucky country.

Just poppin in to say 'Hi!' :D

WQ, I hope your daughter, granddaughter and yourself are all thriving (if sleep deprived ); and your sheep are picking up. :rose:

Gil, I hope the flu has loosened it's grip and you're soon back giving cheek (and Bandit is back at the gym being her her incredibly fit and healthy self) :D

Mr Elf, have the slash-and-burners finally crawled off to their caves until the next time someone lets them out? Bad weather down there today, I'm told.

I hope all is well with Kisses, Pert, Fuzzy, Noor and Mr Applebywho seems to be back in the UK.

Where are YOU, Orlanth. My favourite garden gnome should be gearing up for spring!!!! Your green thumbs must be itching, Sunshine. :rose::D

Hey Deej! Careful of the wind down there, Sweetheart. You may end up in the bay!!!:eek::eek:

Hi trisk :)

Yes, everyone is doing really well - in fact, my daughter has surprised the hell out of me with just how well she's coping with motherhood, and the maturity she has shown with certain decisions (for example, she has elected to not have any friends visit her at home for the first couple of weeks so she can establish a routine with her new family.)

Don't talk to me about sheep  Gonna get rid of the lot, except for Ralphy and Eenie, and take a year to decide if this is worth doing again.

As for orlanth.... Unfortunately, I hear he's back in hospital :(

Holy Cow!!! Is it windy today, or what!????:eek::eek:

I hope you're bunkered down outta the wind in Syd, Gil and Bandit, and Gil is recovering nicely. :rose:

My man is in Sydney harbour for a couple of days.... They were sailing past when the weather got too bad to continue up the coast.
He says he's got some awesome photos of the waves and the harbour heads as they went through. Will be interesting to see them.

Just the thought of those waves gets me green around rhe gills! The Gap certainly is an awesome sight in a big storm.

Your other half would have front seat for the whale migration on that trip. Awesome stuff! :D

The first time you see whales at sea, it's all exciting.
The second time, you realise they're yet another obstacle you need to get past.
And the umpteenth time you hear them through the hull when you need sleep coz you've just done an 8 hour watch and you're exhausted..... you just wish they'd shut up for a few hours!
