As a pilot....

..I was taught that an altimeter was for determining your altitude ....

but here, it seems to be a counter for the number of alts posters use to talk to themselves so as to create the impression of a 'bandwagon effect'.

Why don't you create a couple alts and see if getting someone to agree with you makes you look smarter?

It hasn't worked for anyone else, but you can always pretend it did.

I don't believe for a moment you are or were ever competent enough to be a pilot.

And what is the suction gauge for?

altimeters are typically based on barometric air pressure, adjusted at takeoff .... instruments (ie air speed) typically work on ram air pressure (not suction), via a pitot tube....but a lot of them are now electronic too (ie radar or GPS based altimeters).

just pulling your leg pilot to pilot. THe small plane I fly has a "suction" gauge for Vacuum pressure
