Or Lincoln Logs?

Or at least some blocks?

Or would that be impermissible government assistance in helping them build a future?

Duplos, they are the cheap, overly large version of Legos.

It's very American

No send them damn legos with them. They hurt like hell if you step on them just right.

stickle bricks. stop trying to regiment their thinking with your rigid lego rules!

Nothing like a shovel when it's time to til the garden for a kids toy......

which is why you never see kids on skateboards.

Without a battery powered device connected to them someway? I'll show my age and say I can remember when they were actually skates with boards.

well they all have cell phones in their pockets some of them are listening to music! welllll, they call it music but i just call it noise. it's not like proper music we had in my day. and in my day we had an old boot and a dead rat for christmas and we were damn grateful for it!

A lego set, some lincoln logs, a few coloring books. Capt. Crunch for breakfast, chicken and stars for lunch...Wait, no that's joe biden's day!

You never see kids out playing like we used to, tag, hide&seek, sand lot baseball, just goofing around in the woods. No wonder we're growing a race of little Pugsley Adams's!

and stay off my lawn!!

And that's another problem. The neighbors didn't really care if we ran through their yards playing, it was part of being a kid back then. We hid in their bushes, climbed their trees, recovered balls in their yards, and they didn't mind. The kids next door are always welcome to run through our yard anytime they like, or play on our big front porch when it rains, no biggie. at least they're playing instead of dumbing themselves down in front of a tv, or some other electronic device.

I blame Chik-fil-a and the Liberals.

Also, we used to dream of boots, dead rats and christmas. Fucking privileged liberal.

Kids hopefully will at least have access to sticks and rocks. Building bricks/toys of any kind foster many forms of brain development and help in all learning processes. Toys with batteries are highly over-rated. Building together with another person aides in common courtesy skills and language development. Smacking your little brother in the head with the biggest block because he knocked down your tower can create a training opportunity for mom. Its all good.

Quoted for posterity and awesomeness

Bah. You had it easy. There were 27 of us living in a shoe box in the middle of the road. After we worked for 22 hours a day our father would come home and beat us. The only thing we had to eat was asbestos dad stole from work.

But we were happy back then.
