Emily Miller Dispelling Gun Myths

I'm an NRA member. I think our gun control laws that do exist should be done away with. But the mealy mouthed rhetoric of the gun lobby is annoying to me. Why can't people just say flat out what they really mean: "Yeah, maybe outlawing guns would stop some of these massacres, but so what? I'd rather live in a world where I can have my guns and where, unfortunately, this kind of thing happens from time to time".

You can argue till the cows come home about the effect of laws on gun crime, but even if it were somehow conclusively proven that banning guns stopped mass murders, we gun enthusiasts would still want our guns.

Assault weapons has turned out to mean "scary-looking weapons."

Like the ones used on little Elian or the Weavers, or even the Branch Dividians...

;) ;)

If you Google the top gun massacrers, four of the top five are in strict gun-control countries...

#4 is in post-Columbine Colorado's gun-control environment...

;) ;)

What was the Caliber used by Timmy? Ted? The Olympics bomber?

Thanks for quoting Rob. He should know that cars by far kill more people than guns year in and year out.

Sorry I think I got him to iggy me he hasn't responded with lefty poo spew since yesterday's troll session where I had to just get absurd with my claims before the dumb ass figured it out.

Yea so do junk food, and cigg's...both have NO value to anyone other than poisoning their body but that's ok.

There is no defense against the insane. We aren't going to outlaw cars because some crazy person decides to drive it through a crowd.

I am loling over here. Vette has 2 threads on the front page, one saying guns don't kill people, people kill people, and another saying people don't kill people violent tv kills people.

If you left your disingenuousness at the door when you log-on to LIT...

...you'd have virtually nothing to post.

I'm amused that you routinely thank people for quoting me.

Your red herring is correct, cars do kill moar people than guns.

It's worth pointing out, once again, that the primary purpose of cars is not to kill people, unlike handguns. This is a fact that your limited intelligence is unwilling or unable to acknowledge.

Derp.

This is the most honest assessment that I have read anywhere about the situation from either side of the debate.

For what it's worth, you have my respect.

I haven't put you on ignore, Moochmeister.

I rather enjoy pointing out your situational outrage, blatant hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty.
