Hurt Takes on Hollywood Violence

Gun control bad, thought control good.

No one ever said Batman is like Bambi. If such things did not happen on this movie, the same psycho nut cases would do it somewhere else.

I buy hammers and saws too, but just because a few idiots kill folks with them, it's not going to stop me from using them to work on stuff.

Is it bad that I read 'snuff' there?

^^^^^P.S. I am still upset about Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam being taken off TV. That does not mean I am gonna go wabbit hunting.^^^^^

I'm not in favor of controlling thought, but let's not kid ourselves about where some of these horrific ideas come from.

No one in their right minds actually believe that stuff. Most all of us understand the difference between fantasy in a movie and reality.

You are kidding yourself. Crazy is crazy. It takes on whichever expression is handy. Just like you say it will take whichever tools handy, so no gun control will prevent it.

Most of the better cartoons have been taken of TV for their alleged effect on children, but nobody cares that any kid that wants to is going to watch this kind of extreme violence eventually on TV or DVD. There was a six year old kid killed in that theater during the 12:30 AM showing.

That's a salient point.

crazy is crazy...I watch some FUCKED up movies....never had an urge to go waste innocent civilians.

Up here in the cheap seats it looks like what we want is to take all the guns away from the sane people, and leave them to the tender mercies of the psychos. A half dozen sane movie patrons carrying lil Ruger LPCs coulda handled Mr.Holmes quickly.

Regardless of how you slice and dice it gunlaws do not affect the loonies and bad guys.

:D :D :D

I once attended a Brice Lee movie marathon and then up and went and got my ass thoroughly kicked at the redneck bar...

I am agreeing with a good part what you say, but not all of it. Especially agreeing about the cartoons I seen growing up (Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam , Roadrunner, Popeye, etc. ) All the kids I knew thought they were funny and we knew the violence was fake and it was not as graphic as the stuff they show on cartoons today.

We knew the characters were fake, they were not sexualized, there was no blood and slashing of skin. To this day, I believe the players behind removing those old cartoons was a plot to replacing them with the more violent and provocative ones we have today. Though, we still have some good ones on tv as well.

While the six year kid was killed, and it saddens us all, that child should not have been up that time of night.
