How do you know if you are simply not intelligent enough to ever go to college?

Is there a test or assessment you can take?

No.

Just keep asking us over and over and over and we will let you know.

There is a test. If you think to yourself "I want a philosophy degree", you are not smart enough to go to college.

Fine Arts degrees are absolutely worthless, in fact, a square of toilet paper is probably more valuable. It is embarrassing to tell people that you have a fine arts degree.

The only academic degrees worth the time and money spent in college are those in science, technology, and engineering. All of which involving advanced physics and mathematics; beyond my intellectual comprehension.

The only people who benefit most from a college education are doctors, lawyers, engineers, and science specialists. Which is also beyond my intellectual comprehension.

Today, a college degree is nothing more than a litmus test for employers, a mere requirement to become an average office worker. or if you don't want to work the drive-thru window at McDonalds for the rest of your life.

Mike, you're smart ehough to be the only person on the planet to know what the miracle cure for cancer is.
Surely you can do something as menial as college!

Word.

It doesn't matter how smart you are for college cause pretty soon only the wealthy will be able to afford it. Tuitions rising too fast and funds to help the non-wealthy being cut. The country is running out of money. We are in decline. We are fucked.

But I hope we will always be able to spend the trillions we do on attacking and bombing people in other countries to "protect our freedom."

My state university only costs $5,000 per year in-state tuition.

Were you referring to Ivy-League universities like Harvard and Yale which costs $50K per year?

And the taxpayers will foot you for at least $10k a year in student loans. The true test of whether or not you are intelligent enough for college is if you can fill out the financial aid forms correctly. If you get the loan, you're smart enough, and they don't even care if you attend class, occasionally.

That's cheap. What state? It's still a lot for some. How much with room and board? Well most private college are 50 k with room and board and tuition, not just tuition.

In my state the state college run like 23k for everything. But of course, not all state schools are good. That's another consideration.

Employers are seeking to hire ivy-league graduates instead of those who went to state college or lesser institutions.

It's ridiculous the kinds of hoops you have to jump through and money you have to spend just in order to become an average worker.

More and more employers are looking to hire the community college graduate, the one with the technology-based A.S. degree!!

Oaky you are right. You should have no trouble getting a job on Wall Street.

Yates is right. Try getting a job on Wall Street or a hedge fund in New York without the pedigree of an IVY school. It's how they all keep it in the family.

Yes, getting a job on Wall Street is impossible unless you have a business degree or MBA from schools like Harvard and Yale.

Oh mike is complaining about how hard school is? How you can't make money without a degree...fucking shocking.

I wonder how he rationalizes all the upper middle class -> billionaires who didn't get a degree from Harvard.

Most employers require a minimum of a bachelors degree from an accredited university before they even consider hiring you.

A college degree has become the base REQUIREMENT to become an average worker.

One of the first things they ask you in a job interview is whether or not you have a college degree or any college experience.

Even if the job you're applying for doesn't require one, it is a big turnoff if you don't.

In fact, more and more employers are requiring masters degrees and doctorates as the bare minimum for their entry-level positions.

It is incredibly difficult to have a high-paying job or successful career without having a college education.

No problems Mike. What is needed? A diploma? Some transcripts? A registrar's stamp? It can be done.
