What's a magority?

Most movies are still made in California. They're only filmed elsewhere.

Corn prices hit all-time high
Hot, dry weather across the country has ruined crops. Is it time to rethink the ethanol mandate?

If it didn't then why discuss it? Perhaps a temporary suspension if that would ease prices or if this was something that was expected to hurt the market but if not why even bring it up?

We also reduce the amount of corn available by subsidizing farmers not to farm. If you want to put a one year hiatus on the mandate fine. There isn't however evidence that this will drive prices through the roof. Farmers don't make up the largest part of the costs of food in this country but like I said first hint that this will increase prices by more than say 5% by all means declare an emergency and call it a day.

So am I. If your point is that directing corn to ethanol production is a problem in general, then lets also discuss the subsidies they get not to grow in the first place and maybe start there. If you're point is we can't afford this artificial scarcity during a drought, show your work, then declare emergency. No different than when we open up the national oil reserves because prices are getting a bit high at the pump. This isn't rocket science.
