The original "mommy porn"

Hmmm, so Shades of Gray isn't original in any way.

Shocking.

Good press for this woman. Bet her company will get a lot of traffic after this.

I got the impression that it's not about the book or the title; the wonder is that this type of material is published by a 'mainstream' publisher.
There were small publishing houses doing similar work in the 1960s.

Seems to be a growth industry. I wonder when Wall Street or The City will jump aboard.

no its not new, I was reading "porn" errr romance novels at 12, (no I didnt have sex til quite a bit later lol)
That puts it at least 25 years old, usually it was tagged harlequin romance.

Johanna Lindsey popped my cherry, lol she did many historical, but also ventured into scifi. She was quite hardcore compared to others. I am sure it dates back before my time, and its nothing new.

Getting tied up was common in the captive romances. Though, probably much less pain or such involved back then.

I know that company and they have a lot of erotic novels...a once close friend loved their stuff. There is a market for trashy stuff...and the company makes it clear who their market is which is housewives. It is interesting to read their requirements, what women want basically.

Have to get to my romance novel one of these days...:rose:

Heard 50 shades was naughty, but not great writing.

Porn is not even close to being new. It probably precedes Guttenberg. When I say "porn" I mean something that is read by somebody to get a sexual thrill. Now it would be called erotica, but the idea was the same.

As far back as the 1950's, I was reading books published by Fabian and Saber which were, I believe, both the same publisher. These would be pretty tame by today's standards, and were about the same level as the Harlequin Romances were later. And, of course, there were "hot" books, such as "The Amboy Dukes" long before that.

Being banned in Boston was a mark of distinction, which would insure wide distribution.

There were pictures that could be 'read' like stories on the walls of Pompeii

Hell there were probably fathers being fussed at by their wives for their sons finding their cave paintings

lol
