Play Party = Question

So I was able to attend my first "Play Party" last night - it was wonderful! I really enjoyed meeting a group of people that had interests that intersected mine. The broad age range and variety of things to see and experience made it a very stimulating night. I was a little agog by all the things to see, hear and feel.

Question 1 ) I saw a couple of people using IV's for something in their arms...it wasn't drug this was a safe party... I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with this or has an idea of what it could have been. I watched a bit but couldn't really figure out what they were doing. So any insight from anyone would be appreciated - pm's are fine too.

But if the party had dungeon masters (usually there will be someone kinda keeping an eye out) or a host, you could ask them. I wish you would, in fact, I'd like to know!

Yes there was a dungeon master ~ I will inquire at the next one - I am sure he will remember. I'll post when/if I find out! But if anyone else has an idea of what it may have been in the meantime please post

If the party was in a community dungeon or space, you should be able to email and ask. I cannot imagine a DM unwilling to impart information-- it's one of the ways they get their rocks off

Some people do saline inflations. I don't know much about it because I've never tried it before, but I can't imagine why they'd be doing that in their arms, so that's probably not it, either. In other words, I have no idea, LOL.

I've seen needle play and roleplay medical fetishes but nothing IV though. But the needles were huge! Looked like those things you inflate a basketball with. Kinda freaked out the members of the local group here when I was part of it as me and my SO are into bloodsports, cutting, needleplay, temp piercings, vampirism/blood sharing, etc. Kinda the whole vamp thing is what brought us together.

You sure it was fluid going in? As someone pointed out it could have been blood play and they were drawing blood. There was a private Birthday party I was at where the Birthday girl wanted it done. We are lucky enough to have a doctor in our kinky community.

Well I saw the IV's and unless they were solid colored I couldn't see anything dark going through them. That being said, I truly couldn't get a good enough look at them to really tell what was going on other than needles and arms. They were putting the needles in the forearms tif that helps at all.

I hope they're not doing some kind of sedation/knockout scene unless it's all saline and nothing else for roleplay, that shit is dangerous even if you ARE an MD.

I actually didn't see the size of the needles up close - they were set back from the scene lines a bit. What I did see was the iv line comingout of the arm, them cleaning someone's fore arm in preperation and also someone with the cotton and tape their forearm when they were done... sorry I don't have more, waiting on a couple emails to get more information.

Ok heard back form the powers that be - it was saline injecting. Perhaps the arm insertions were practise??

Who knows but the DM said he was keeping an eye on them as they were newbies.

So maybe the more experienced player was teaching them about inserting or something? If the same woman is there next time I will ask her more about it.

Saline injection goes into things like breasts and scrotums and labia--areas where there is an interest in enlarging things that are sexy. Injecting saline into thearm won't swell up any particularly sexyitem, and injecting saline into the bloodstream is only good in dehydration cases.

I know that you're sure you saw the injections in the arm, but...

I mean they had the cottonballs and tape on their arms and I saw them wiping one girls arm down. Now that being said I wasn't in the scene so ... Maybe they really weren't doing anything with arms. If I see the lady who was running the scene again I'll ask

It actually sounds to me that they were tapping a vein for blood play if they were using the arm. I have seen it done that way before when it involved some hardcore players...

I have never seen someone do something like that, I have been at some pretty edgy kind of parties where they did blood play like that (sorry, not my cup of tea *shudder*).

It could be some sort of medical role-play scene, where the sub is the 'patient' and they enact a scene, like a mad doctor 'experimenting' on an unwilling subject, etc, kind of like a bad B movie, so an iv would be put in (with saline) as part of the scene. I doubt it was inflation, that would be done in something like the breasts, labia or scrotum.

Doing an iv with saline solution is probably not going to cause any harm, assuming they knew how to put the needle in, assuming the subject was healthy.

No one was arm chair quarterbacking, someone asked what we thought and people made guesses based on what they know. It isn't like people are telling someone giving symptoms they have cancer and should get chemo or something like that, so what is the harm? Arm chair quarterbacking implies people were trying to tell someone what to do, when all people did was speculate based on what someone asked. Based on the description, I would be willing to give odds it was a medical scene of some sort, lots of houses of domination have 'medical rooms' strictly for that kind of stuff.

OK, I went to a munch tonight and luckily enough the lady who ran the scene was there and we got to talk at length about what was going on.

Simply put it was a medical scene, some blood draw and a small amount of saline injection into the veins for the medical scene.

The lady who ran the scene is also a nurse So I was glad I could clear that up.

Yes they were spot on! Glad I could find out what it was, and thanks to everyone for there ideas. It is fun to see new things and nice to be able to talk about them on a public forum where there is input from others!
