I seen a good preview on 'Recall' when I went to see "Ted" this past weekend. I kept expecting an Arnold cameo to pop out somewhere. The upgrade on special effects makes it look like a better action packed remake.

Personally, the only real appeal to me on this version is that Jessica Biel is in tights and I am hoping for a 'dropped towel' shower scene somewhere in there.

i guess you aren't paying attention. they just rebooted spider man. the last trilogy started just ten years ago. it ended five years ago. total recall is old enough to drink. it's sadly more surprising that it took them this long.

i still think it was too soon to re-make spiderman. and please dear god, let marvel studios shred any script that mentions "wolverine".

well it's a short story, so it doesn't get into as much depth or detail as a movie might.

and even though his stories were good and very ahead of their time, they were still written decades ago, so some of the sci-fi coolness seems dated to us now.
but even with all that, i still recommend reading anything by philip k. dick

agree, but i is slightly better than the original plan of three or more sequels of the old series. those things which just getting dumber and dumber. of course, the best thing for them to do would be to actually put some effort into making good movies instead of just trying to shit out special effects blockbusters as quickly as possible so they can keep raking in the cash, but that's not going to happen any time soon.

A group of physics students from the University of Leicester dealt a crushing blow to Batman fans around the globe with their assertion that although the caped-crusader would be able to glide from tall buildings, the impact of landing would probably kill him. The students based their calculations on the cape worn by the crime-fighter in the 2005 film Batman Begins. Their paper, titled "Trajectory of a falling Batman," notes that if Batman were to leap from the top of a 492-ft- (150-m-) tall building, his cape's 15-ft (4.7-m) wingspan would support a 1,148-ft (350-m) glide, but he would end up hitting the ground at a likely fatal 50 mph (80.5 km/h).

Speaking of epic novels made into movies..

I think a new kick ass A list/big budget action packed version of Ferinheight 451 would be tha shit. I know Equilibrium is a knock off but I would love to see the original story done with the same level of production. Though it does kinda fly in the face of Ray Bradbury, and the point of the story....*shrug*...whatever, it would kick ass.


Also, and I'll probably be crucified for saying this, a Blade Runner remake (done well) would be pretty slick. I would pay good money to see that on the big screen.

Total Recall didnt need a remake....Phillip Dick has lots of books and short stories, hollywood just needs to do some reading
