Just got word Andy has gone to live in Mayberry permanently. Thanks for the great entertainment you gave us.:rose::rose:

Andy Griffith show was before me, but I remember Matlock.

A true television Icon.

He was a decent man who you'd be happy to have your kids emulate— unlike the swine who have come to dominate today's entertainment and media.

Politeness, humility, modesty and honesty are character traits that come to mind.

Thank you fucking Jesus! I thought he'd live forever :(

The old fool was doing ads for Obama.

Likewise. I also remember him from that Leslie Nielsen film that wasn't quite as good as his Naked Guns, but was still pretty funny.

Andy, Barney, Aunt Bee, Howard, Floyd, Ernest T., Otis, Helen and Goober are populating a new Mayberry inside the Pearly Gates. RIP, Andy and the rest. Thanks for creating a town we'd all like to have lived in. :rose::D

This is what I have read, from more than one published interview with the man. Andy Griffith gave a seamlessly genuine portrayal of Sheriff Andy Taylor as an honest, polite, caring, and humble man because that's exactly the kind of man Andy Griffith was. He wasn't acting, at all.

Men like Andy Griffith are rare indeed. He may not have been the most gifted actor in Hollywood, but there's no doubting that he, himself, was a tremendous gift, one who humbles everyone who understands what it is to be a man.
