You weren't but I was so shut the fuck up.
I really liked The Apple Dumpling Gang. I saw that in the theater like 3 times I think.
Also, this really horrible Disney movie called Island at the Top of the World. I loved it as a kid but found a copy as an adult and discovered that the movie did indeed suck hairy, sweaty donkey balls.

Haha, you were a kid in the 70s!

Oh yeah, that was awesome when I saw it during its first run. Years later, not so much.

A movie that I still like from back then is Oh, God. It's dated but not as much as it could be and Burns is just plain likable.

Star Wars of course but that's the easy answer.
My parents wouldn't let me watch Jaws. I should be glad because it meant I was willing to swim in the ocean for a few more years.

I saw Island at the Top of the World with my Mom as the second half of a double bill with Winnie the Pooh. Those were the first movies I ever saw in the theater, so they've always had a special place in my heart. But yeah, it really wasn't a very good movie.

I also loved The Black Hole as a kid. I watched it a few years back, and I thought the big ship was still pretty cool.

Especially the old beat up one that just happened to have a southern accent. Why the fuck would a robot have a southern accent?

Because it was programmed in Houston.

Yes, I have the DVD; still watch it every now and then.

Where the Red Fern Grows - I freaking loved that movie. I have a VHS copy in the closet somewhere.

I think that's why I liked Island and went looking for it years later. It wasn't the first movie I saw but it had to be one of the first and I had fond memories of it. Too bad it sucks.

i'm pretty sure that role is what killed slim pickens. it may have taken a few years and 1941 likely didn't help, but yeah, that's what did him in.

2001: A Space Odyssey was one of those movies that always seemed so mysterious when I was a kid. I'd watch the first hour or so, right up to the part where the Monolith on the Moon starts screeching, then I'd have to go to bed. I didn't see the rest of the damn movie until I was in college.

The Shining was the first R-rated movie that I watched on cable. It's still one of my favorite horror movies.

I guess I was a Kubrick fan from a young age. ;)

My favorite movies when I was younger...

Big Trouble In Little China - still love

Project X - What the fuck was I thinking

Pee Wee's Big Adventure - still love

Goonies - again, what the fuck was I thinking

I liked mr. Smith is going to Washington & guess who's coming to dinner.

Try being the fat kid in real life who was always made to do the truffle shuffle for the entertainment of others.

i was fat, but i hit people. hell, i stabbed one kid with a pencil once. he was an asshole. i still don't feel bad about that one.

I saw Jaws as a teenager in a sneak-preview showing, before the hype and before anyone knew what the hell the movie was about. A true "holy shit!" moment.
