OP, the reason people are making fun of you is that EVERYONE knows that about Lit. There's a website that's supposed to be only for mods like semen4her where they post the best ones they see each day. Enough old-timers know the URL that half of us bounce back and forth between Lit proper and the "secret" Lit PM site all day long, to see what the people we're talking to are saying privately.

The "First PMs from Newbie Members thread," which--mods, take note--I just checked and you CANNOT find by Googling, is especially great. There have occasionally been some threads here where people post the PMs from there, but they get removed pretty quickly.

Almost every long-time member knows about the site. As you're seeing, we can still be unkind to newbies who don't know about it.

Since I'm dinosaur-old in here, I recall when several named/hidden moderators got busted for abusing their powers. Oh boy what fun that was. Talk about DRAMA. Got to read chatlogs and find out how some shit typically goes down around here.

My advice, focus on this being a free site even if others are drinking wine and laughing at you, your posts, PMs, etc..

Free entertainment all around.

I've long suspected as much, but never really expected to hear admission of this. Moderators do in fact read your private messages, and they are smitten with using them as the brunt of their jokes. There is no privacy, and there is no integrity on the part of moderators. Anything said here is as good as 'AttackWatch' material.

And yet another reason membership suffers here. Some of the writers do not feel comfortable discussing their story ideas via PMs here either.

Uhm......NO deal. It is not okay. And it falls well outside the realm of Free Speech. It is a violation of perceived privacy between 2 members want to discuss something they feel is best not said on any of the boards, not just the GB. You expect us to follow your own rules and then violate them yourselves on a consistent basis?
