Ronald Reagan's D-Day Address 40th Anniversary

My father called Reagan a "son of a bitch" to his face while he was governor. :)

What would Ronald Reagan do
If he was here right now?
He'd hear a plan
And he'd claim it, too,
That's what Ronald Reagan'd do!

When Ronald Reagan was in the Army
Fighting World War II,
He never left the States, but said
He was there and freed the Jews!

When Ronald Reagan was in Hollywood,
Heading up the SAG,
He turned the names of Comsymps in
To the fucking HUAC scumbags!

So what would Ronald Reagan do
If he were here today?
I'm sure he'd stab a back or two,
That's what Ronald Reagan'd do!

Any time you speak out against Obama the left calls you a racist. It's lost it's power.

There's no comparison between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama.

Ronald Reagan was motivated by all things American. He believed in the idea of America, its founding documents and the principles of limited government they represent. He had great historical perspective and a vision for America, as a beacon of freedom and liberty.

Barack Obama believes in Barack Obama. He does not believe in the founding principles of the nation. He does not believe in the Constitution, or the notion of limited government.

Barack Obama believes in fundamentally changing America into something it has never been. Barack Obama does not believe in the same America the vast majority of Americans believe in.

Barack Obama believes in nothing larger than himself, except the state. He sees himself as its titular head, a mastermind, civic duty and responsibility the burden of others. The only endeavors worth his time, other than leisure itself, is the fundamental destruction of the country's free enterprise system, and those financial and political expediencies that best promote and assure his re-election. Little else has meaning to him.

Obama, the communicator of other people's ideas. Ronald Reagan, the Great Communicator, communicated his own ideas and words, tens of thousands of words, ideas, and strategies, written in his own hand over a career of public service. Words like those on Normandy Beach, spoken with quiet dignity and compassion, words of great respect and appreciation for the meaning of the sacrifice of those that Barack Obama chooses to ignore.

I never studied his presidency in depth as I was knee high to a grasshopper when he was POTUS and really only know about the highlights of past presidents before I took an interest in politics mid Clinton era. So I'm fairly ignorant as to the details of his administration.

That being said for the most part I agree, RR was 10x the american Obama is based on intent / rhetoric alone and a far better POTUS. My only beef with the man as far as I know was his pro war on drugs stance....but I understand it.

As for my earlier comment...I crack myself up :D

Tired. Reagan brought down the Soviet Union. Obama has his lips fixed permanently to Putin's ass cheeks.
If you give credit to Reagan for ousting Gorbachev, then you have to credit Obama for ousting Gadhafi.

I'm looking for that alternate universe. You know, the one where their rhetoric matches reality.
