How drunks keep on driving

The levers that society uses to try to keep intoxicated motorists off the road aren't particularly effective. So what would work?

apparently....have you seen drivers lately? Everyone get's a DL....and I bet 1/2 or more couldn't actually pass a driving exam if they had to take one pop quiz style.

Thinking one needs a driver's license to drive is like thinking one needs a marriage license to fuck.


But, if you'd like to drive legally.


I've talked to a few drunks in my day. It's surprising what one could get away with if the paperwork for the car (tags and inspection) were valid, and the driver was sober.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! You mean there is no program to help these poor poor souls when they drive themselves off a cliff?

There should be a department or some program to fix that....

Really simple - you charge each and every one of them with attempted murder and throw them in jail (and to make room you kick out the potheads and white-collar criminals who have never actually physically hurt anyone).

Open container laws here too, but they seem to let most of the drunks off with a slap on the wrist, until they kill someone.
