Fifty Shades of Grey

You know, maybe next time I'm bored I'll take my shot at fanfic.

Anastasia gets stuck with a real dom and Mr. Gray gets his wussy ass handed to him by a true dominatrix.

I wonder if Gray would like to be pegged "down there"

Try: Anastasia is a real dominatrix, and Grey is submissive.

Or, Grey is female also. Either outright, or passing as male.

Or: Grey falls for a slightly clumsy young man named umm.. Andrew.

Or: Grey loses all of his money. Does Anastasia stay with him?

Those are the kinds of notions that fans address in fan fiction.

Gray loses all his money and is forced to pay his debt in the service of a cruel dominatrix.

Anastasia is along for the ride and is forced to fuck him with a 10" strap on.

while reading shades out loud. Talk about sadistic

Actually for me a fun piece of fanfic would be The twilight vampires running into Brian Lumley's Wamphyrie.

Don;t know if you read those novels, but in addition to Lumley's heavy Lovecraft influence. His vampires are sex crazed and have subs in a true BDSM style. Interesting mix.

Okay guys, here's the reply from my question;
well, the book is really about negotiation and the journey of the dynamic. so for newbies like me (a woman) it was eye opening. i would think the man/D who is new to this whole thing would see the emotions involved in the situations, see a glimpse into the feelings of the partner, see what it would be like for them to process this arrangement which could only benefit their future experiences. a newbie could learn a lot from this book. for sure. i know i did!

emphasis mine, this time.

And THAT, my friends is what makes the book sexy to women. The emotions of the woman, the feelings of the woman. The journey of the woman.

Not so much, IMO, the dude who inspires those feelings (although the women who read it tend to hang their responses on his shoulders).

So when LC talks about his revenge fic ideas, they don't inspire me. LC focuses on Grey getting his comeuppance, a woman would focus on Anastasia experiencing a better Dom.

Well we could have both. Gray gets his comeuppance by being forced to watch Anastasia being with a real Dom. Win-win!

Anastasia finds out what a real dom can do for her, and leaves Grey in the dust.

See the difference? I'm focused on her.

I'm starting to figure this out myself, at last-- what makes the book sexy to all of these women isn't the type of sex they are having, but that Anastasia is having great sex. Now, you might not think it's great sex, but she does. The writer communicates Anastasia's enjoyment to female readers. And they, too, get to have great sex along with Anastasia. That it happens to be mild BDSM sex with grey is almost inconsequential. And that she uses namby-pamby language for the sex is also inconsequential to the readers; they know damn well how "down there" feels, because they are feeling it too. When you're feeling it, it doesn't matter what you call it!:D

I once got a comment on "The Baroness's Boy" to the effect that, although the reader had no interest in BDSM, my story helped her understand why I have so much interest in it.

Got it.

Just a question of style. Guess I'm just a meanie.:eek:

I wonder how many extra copies might be sold as a result of this nonsense?

I think the phrase "There is no such thing as bad publicity" comes to mind

It's a question of focus. Focus on her, not him. Be as mean to him as you like-- just show it from her point of view, and how it affects her.

Wait, you mean it's all about her? OOOOOooooohhhhhh!!!!!!!

So when do I get MY orgasm?

LMAO!!!!!!

A dude I know told me;

"I am so into my girlfriend. After she gets her two orgasms, I get whatever I want!"

And people say romance is dead. :D

Not gonna lie, I would read all of these. ;)

Checking it out now. Seems pretty interesting, thanks for the recommendation, Stella!
