In fact, he successfully linked to the two (Jewish-Bolsheviks) as the cause of the 1918 revolution and collapse of the German war effort. One can not underestimate the anti-semitism that was pervasive at the time. One can not underestimate the political benefits gained by the party.

1943 was too late for the landsers of the Ostkrieg. Mannstein served his purpose of simply getting them back to the Dnieper. It was still an elastic defense with no hope due to overwhelming Soviet troop numbers. People claim Kursk was the turning point, but it was Stalingrad if not earlier. I am inclined to believe Barbarosa was a failure by simply not having a sole objective. It wasn't Moscow, it wasn't the Donnets Basin, it wasn't the Caucasus oil fields. No, the Fuhrer had to try for all three. In retrospect, not smart...
