Rise of the 'rinsers': Meet the women trawling the internet for rich men to fund their extravagant lifestyles
In the grips of recession most people are having to forget their material desires. But a new breed of women dubbed 'rinsers', are taking to the internet to find rich men who will fund their expensive shopping habits.
Featured in a Channel 4 documentary 'Sex, Lies and Rinsing Guys' Jeanette Worthington, Danica Thrall and Hollie Capper reveal how they use their feminine charms to get thousands of pounds worth of goods from wealthy Twitter and Facebook followers.
They rarely meet their admirers in person and merely offer virtual friendship in exchange for designer products. As 33-year-old Liverpudlian Jeanette notes: 'I do nice things for my friends and I don’t expect them to have sex with me.’
Cartier watches, pairs of Jimmy Choos, exotic holidays, cosmetic procedures, are some of the spoils that have been lavished on the trio by deep-pocketed devotees.
And to ensure that their admirers send the right items each post detailed wish lists to their Twitter, facebook and Amazon accounts.
Glamour model Danica Thrall, from Derbyshire, reveals that she has been provided with £20,000 worth of goods in the space of just three months.
Strewn over her bed are a range of designer wares, including a sparkly cocktail dress worth £1,400 and a lacy Agent Provocateur lingerie set costing more than £800.
‘Guys have all kinds of fantasies and things that they find a bit of a turn on. And I think one of them is buying gifts for girls,' she says.
Meanwhile mother-of-two Jeanette Worthington, 33, from Liverpool who has been 'rinsing' for years says she can't imagine life any other way.
During the one hour documentary she is seen hitting London clubs in a bid to expand her business network which boasts some of 'the richest men in the country' - including footballer Mario Balotelli.
She is dripping head to toe in designer gear, the majority of which has been given to her for free.
