What a spring we're having!

I have mums blooming! In MAY!

Day lilies, Asiatic lilies, clematis, cosmos, roses, what a year for roses! cattail, lizard tail, yucca, the cone flowers are huge buttons ready to burst, mimosa is budding and we were spared this year's annual monsoon so we've actually been out a lot (well, this week past, when not at the hospital) and some of my bamboo has topped the 20-foot mark.

Potatoes, peas and beans are in full bloom as well as the last of the sage and the tomatoes look like they are getting big enough to bloom at any time. The chicks have feathers and I am trapping pretty much a squirrel a day, the little rascules!

I've been reading J.B. Say having finished part one of Wicksteed, I reread some Tolstoy and I read a book about the Cuban resistance, a football book by Billig, and now I'm working on a book on China policy and one about Chinese women from Guangzhou to Manchester, UK.

:) Hope ya'll are doing as well!

Bitchy, weak and mobile.

All positive signs and a far cry from what we were facing last week at this time, I was still recovering from a late night run half-way to Chicago to pick up what we thought was a case of the flu...

Thanks for asking!

:)

Lilacs are growing like crazy. The plum trees are full of tiny plums. The labrador gets beefier by the day and is questioning if she should be the one in charge of this operation.

Don't you have some light rail stimulus welding to attend to?

Was it your weld that doomed the SpaceX launch?

:nana: :nana: :nana:

The lilacs here are done and the hellhounds seem to be leaving the chickens alone, but they have not been fully vetted yet...

Dotriacontaroon Dachshund Comanchero...

Facebook is losing friends...

We really needed an Xlaunch that did not resemble a Korean launch; theirs got further off the pad than ours did...

The horned toad ran off with the empty pint bottle.

I think he thinks they will give him back some deposit money.

He'd do better applying for an Obama Stimulus.

Simple reptilian bastard.

Glad that Princess is on the mend.

If I really cared, I'd send a coupon for a dozen of her favorite donuts . . .

so you could run out and get them for her.

And a box of doggie treats for the Vicious Killer.

She only eats the holes.

I will make her bacon. She loves bacon; she's just having trouble keeping food and medicine down...

:(

I guess so. Her insides are traumatized. Bacon might not be the answer just yet, either. Something a bit more boring, like cereal or fruit might sit a bit better, or yogurt, maybe.

She's not quite up to dirty-nosed squaw cooking yet.

I have a great cornbread recipe . . . .

There is a cat scrap in the corner, and all of a sudden, I have the urge to go a-Viking.

On we sweep with threshing oar . . .

We are your overlords.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing.

It's simply a lovely day here, a day which begs me to go out into it.

And the grass is begging to be cut, damn it.

Off to stimulate something.
