My daughter has always had night terrors. Being woken up by a screaming child has become old news. I now just walk in her room and have interesting conversation. She will be yelling something weird like “I do not want to go, do not make me go”. I will simply tell her we are going to Disney or something stupid and after 5 minutes of this she will calm down and not remember anything in the morning. The past six months she has started sleep walking. Not just sleep walking but eventually opening a door to go outside. The first time this happened I was sneaking down the stairs with a pistol in my hand only to see her standing at the wide open front door talking to herself. Now when the alarm starts to beep I usually get to it in the 10 seconds before it goes off, go find her and try to go back to sleep. Last night I got home late after a day trip to Salt Lake for a meeting. About 3am the alarm starts to beep. I jump out of bed to turn it off before it blares and then head down stairs to see which door my princess has opened. As I get to the bottom of the stairs I hear the pool door open. She has never opened this door (while sleep walking) before as it is high and I guess jumping up is not something one does while asleep. As I round the corner there is a full grown man standing in my living room. He looks at me I look at him he runs. In that 3 seconds I think about 200+ things went thru my mind.

Ralph had success with tacks on the the floor when Norton was looking for LuLu.

This sounds like a LT stowy. What did you do?

He ran...nothing to do at that point. Calling the cops would have required me to tell my wife.

This would have resulted in my having to admit I did not lock the door after sneaking out to have a smoke. Then it would have resulted her wanting to move...we already live in a high end gated community and have an alarm.

Giving my German Sheppard and Boxer never left their beds, I may think about this.......

I am sad that I get this refrence.....

Comedy is timeless, and it was one of the best ever. They still show every episode on New Years Day, so it doesn't mean you're old if you get it.

Never held a gun before. I can't imagine; was it more terrifying being poised to shoot when it turned out to be your child, or being without it when it turned out to be some dude?

My mom once walked down her stairs to find a burgler. He just backed away from her out the door, telling her not to panic, and ran away.

You should patent this story and then tell us about Dylan and the Stones.

nah...the first time when I did have the gun it was never lifted to the ready, even if it wasI have been in through enough "tire house" training that I would not be worried about shooting someone 4.5ft tall.

The sleep walking bothers me more than a dude in my house. I have been googling shit on it for a month now and it seems there is nothing I can do.

Maybe if you talk to an actual Doctor instead of a Google
