My daughter has always had night terrors. Being woken up by a screaming child has become old news. I now just walk in her room and have interesting conversation. She will be yelling something weird like “I do not want to go, do not make me go”. I will simply tell her we are going to Disney or something stupid and after 5 minutes of this she will calm down and not remember anything in the morning. The past six months she has started sleep walking. Not just sleep walking but eventually opening a door to go outside. The first time this happened I was sneaking down the stairs with a pistol in my hand only to see her standing at the wide open front door talking to herself. Now when the alarm starts to beep I usually get to it in the 10 seconds before it goes off, go find her and try to go back to sleep. Last night I got home late after a day trip to Salt Lake for a meeting. About 3am the alarm starts to beep. I jump out of bed to turn it off before it blares and then head down stairs to see which door my princess has opened. As I get to the bottom of the stairs I hear the pool door open. She has never opened this door (while sleep walking) before as it is high and I guess jumping up is not something one does while asleep. As I round the corner there is a full grown man standing in my living room. He looks at me I look at him he runs. In that 3 seconds I think about 200+ things went thru my mind.
