I was wondering if someone could give me some advice. I've been writing since I was a kid but want to start writing more erotic and sexual stuff I have my fantasies and ideas just not sure the best way to get them put in to words. I would greAtly appreciate someone's advice.

Just Do It

Hate to say it, but the only real answer here is "just do it." You get better with practice, and you really only learn by doing.

Pick an idea that you think would be on the shorter end in terms of story length, just so to increase your odds of carrying it to completion. (This will encourage you to do more later.) Find a couple of the volunteer editors on the site. Ask them to take a look at the story. Take their suggestions in stride, and then put it up on the site.

Again, you'll never know how it'll turn out unless you try.

"Just do it," is the central advice, yes. But also read stories that are what you'd like to write about. Watch not only the phrases and techniques they use but also for stories you'd twist differently. Then take a similar basic set up and twist differently away.

Imagine someone you'd like to do something juicy to. Figure out how to get them where you want them. Then write what happens. Deep, evil laughter optional.

I'll hop on the wagon and say you just have to sit and get started.

You mentioned some fantasies you had so why not start with just the sex?

That's how I got going, I wrote a little foot fetish scene and then wrote the story around it. who were they? how did they get on the couch with her feet around his cock? ETC....

My suggestion – for what it’s worth – is to try to write the simplest story you can, using the simplest language you can. Ninety percent of the gobbledygook that I see when I’d editing is the result of writers – especially new writers – failing to keep it simple.

And make sure that it’s a story that you would like to read. If you wouldn’t want to read it, why should anyone else?

Good luck. And let us know when you have something posted.

I got started by gradually working my way up to the full-blown sex scene in my story. I first did what I call 'mini-lemons' (scenes of oral sex) when I could fit them into the story. Yeah, I didn't get in one every chapter, but that story was focused more on the relationship between my two main characters as they were trying to keep it a secret until a big party on Christmas Day. Turned into a great story (some call it the best of it's pairing on the site I posted it at), and left me with a way to do a sequel.

Trust me, your imagination is your best friend when writing sex scenes, so be sure to utilize it wisely! ;)

You might want to read what some other authors have written in a genre you like or that turns you on. Not, of course, to imitate what they've done (it may be sincerest form of flattery, but that's all it is), but to see how they've done it.

Then just do it.

Hi, Yorky, and welcome to Literotica and the Authors' Hangout.

Like others have said, read some stories, especially in the genre you want. You might want to watch some porno movies too, to get some ideas for byplay, etc. Other than that, just do it, but it would probably be best to write shorter stories about what you know before jumping in with both feet.

I suggest reading fairy tales to learn the nuts & bolts of story writing.

Or they could listen to you. It amounts to the same thing.

Is that YOU talkin, TEX, or your MADDOG 20/20 talkin?

Tell the folks what the ICEHOUSE brewery told you, THERE'S A CHARLES DICKENS IN EVERY CASE OF ICEHOUSE BEER.

Poor JB, I haven't even seen a bottle of MD 20/20 since the 70'. You must have all of it squirreled away in your wine cellar.

Charles Dickens huh, Man you keep showing your age. I'm old but you are ancient and there is a world of difference.

Keep trying, you might find a Zinger yet. Or was that a HoHo.

Maybe work with another writer at first? I'd be happy to help, if you want to practice setting scenes and writing descriptions. Like everyone else says, though, practice makes perfect.
