Have not been around for a while!

Are you all well?

I can tell WQ is from the colour of her backside. Still in tassy i see WQ!:kiss:

Hey guys, a little slow in the thread of late but it goes like that.

WQ reported that that sweet butt is now smaller.

The butt is smaller. The whole body is smaller.
I am seriously unwell right now - thought all I had was a bad cold, but it turns out I have bacterial bronchitis (lungs full of fluid) and bacterial sinusitis (sinus are bleeding), so now am on 5 days forced rest plus heavy-duty antibiotics and steroids.
And all this on top of not being able to use my right arm for anything.
My doc doesn't want to send me to hospital if we can avoid it, as he reckons due to my seriously depressed immune system that is the very LAST place I should be.... in amongst all the sick people.
So I am at home, feeling very miserable and struggling to breathe. Let alone do any of the normal things

I know a trip like this is expensive so I do not expected it to happen for a couple of years. Trust me I know as I have done the reverse trip myself

Hey, Orlanth! How's my favourite Garden Gnome????

You out of hospital, yet? I'm so disappointed that you're not going to get to Brissy. It super-sucks that you got hurt trying to get there!

I'm takin my poota so we can chat to you while we're there. Is that ok?

Happy Mothers Day to all the gorgeous Mums :rose:

I have woken up to a house devoid of children... but they are all coming here later today.
And they have to cook for me too!

Hope you had a great Mothers Day, WQ. :rose:

I had the cherubs and we had a ball. I swear they get cheekier as they get older. So far I can hold my own - but I can see myself getting overwhelmed some time soon!

You got your arm in a sling???? Don't you have an exam or prac or something coming up this or next week? How you gonna do that????

Hope your son is continuing to recover, and he's getting lots of visits from his mates.

Um, just read your last post. Damn, you gotta buy shares in the hospital and medical practice there. seriously! I can empathise, hon. Had that and it cuts you low. Hope your lovely man can help you move that fluid with some back rubs (between the pounding ). Get well, WQ, and avoid the germy people!

Wish you were coming up on the weekend. :(

No prac for me :( can't use the arm at all for the next 5 1/2 weeks... and that's if I don't end up needing further surgery.
So now I have to wait till August for the next one.
No1son is improving heaps. He's even going back to the gym!

I am thrilled to hear you had a good day.. Extra special is spending wonderful time with the kidleys :rose:

OMG! I've been running a bubble bath while i caught up on the thread. The stuff is supposed to be Lavender scented...

Yeah, right! Just went in and the whole bloody bathroom smells like AJAX! Couldn't get out of there fast enough! Don't feel like one now, strangely.....

OMG WQ! After I got your pm, I just had to check out what was up and damn you are one sick person! I hope someone is at home taking good care of you. I haven't been that sick in years, that feeling of not being able to breathe was terrifying.

I hope the meds kick in and you recover quickly!

BIG HUGS!!!

Since having my op last Friday, all I have done is struggle out of bed to the sofa in front of the fire, then at night struggle back to bed again.
Even going to the toilet, 30 steps return, leaves me struggling for breath and exhausted for an hour or more.
My boys are being fantastic... they are taking care of everything. But to be honest, I couldn't care less how the household is running.
I sit here in the warmth, dozing off for an hour or so at a time sitting up, and eating whatever they bring me, drinking heaps of water, and basically zoned out off my head.

No1son is taking me back to the doc on Friday, but so far I know the meds haven't worked because my lungs are wheezing just as badly and my sinuses are still bleeding.
I really hate the feeling of not being able to breathe :( especially at night when I wake up panicked because I feel like I'm drowning if I lie down.

WQ it sounds like you might have to go to hospital after all, IV antibiotics might work better than oral ones plus they can put you on a nebuliser to help your breathing. :rose:

My blood tests last week show that I have something depressing my immune system. That is why a simple cold has developed into these major bacterial infections.
Neither of my doctors want me in hospital... they both think I am safer at home (Tassie hospitals have been battling resistant strains of staph and gastro).
I have another hour before the next lot of headfuck drugs, so I can think sorta clearly right now

WQ - I empathise with you. having just got out of hospital yesterday, i am told mt T cell receptors need to be checked because my immune system (IGG1 deficiency) is suffering.

Hmmm - hope they sort yours out soon!

J :kiss::rose::kiss:

I am slowly falling back into zoneout mode.
The docs have no idea why my immune system is depressed... the question was asked if I am in contact with organic chemicals or benzenes?!
Neither.
Well, so far as I know anyway.

Hello Triskle, i have felt alot better as my leg still hurts like hell, i do not recomend breaking your leg

I have been out of hospital for 1 week as of thursday. I am even more so disapointed that i can not go to the get togather as i was looking foward to going and spending time with a special somone ;)

That would be great as i still want to keep in contact though my replies might be slow

Yeah. I did wonder...... And the pong still lingers!

Bandit's right. A nebuliser would help. Do you have one? Or know someone who does?
I've got a special set of pillows, including a boomerang one, that I set up when my asthma etc gets a hold. I can sleep and stop more liquid getting into my lungs. I raised the entire bedhead (well directed the operation :D) during the last bout of pnuemonia so the bed was on an angle. That worked a treat.

I do hope you get the treatment you need. That horrible weak, heavy body, muzziness is the pits! Sometimes all the medication can't give what good ol bedrest can, tho. Glad your boys are looking after you.

Thinking of you and wishing you well. :rose::kiss:

Mmm. I could make totally gratuitous comments about fellas and being slow - but I'll restrain myself,... with difficulty... :D

Aussie thread Emergency Room

WOW what a lot of health wrecks we all are LOL BANDIT:heart: dosen't belong here she is so fit.

W.Q. Ask about a nebuliser as when i had the massive lung infection some years back I found the nebuliser a saviour as I could draw a breath after using it & every 4 hours back on it again while I had IV antibiotics & it still had me wiped out for ages.

Looking for some warm weather on the weekend & hope to find something to do on the sunday as we don't flyout till monday after lunch.

The top ten reasons nipple rings are a GOOD idea:

#10. You gain a new and much higher threshold for pain.

#9. You have more than just your purse to keep from losing your car keys.

#8. With a little body english and a short copper wire, you can pick up
pay-per-view if the weather is right.

#7. You can now jump car batteries without cables.

#6. With only a spinning table and spot light you can earn extra cash
renting yourself out to Club parties.

#5. Those nasty stretch marks are no longer the center of attention for
your husband or boyfriend.

#4. You always have a ready replacement if you lose your wedding ring.

#3. Every elf in the universe is now your loyal friend for life.

#2. Hanging ten is childs play. Hanging by two?? Now thats impressive!

#1. Hard vibrators can be "way more" than a girl's best friend.

The top ten reasons nipple rings are a BAD idea:

#10. Perpetual delays at airport security scanners.

#9. Potential law suits from elderly people with pacemakers.

#8. A friend asks to see your ring and in a blonde moment you almost do it.

#7. For some reason, combs will seem like threats.

#6. Mud wrestling as an occupation is no longer an option.

#5. Cats and babies are attracted to shiny things.

#4. You'll now have to deal with Velcro nightmares.

#3. The aging process has taken on a whole new meaning.

#2. Skinny dipping is a real challenge because of your artificial lures.

#1. Lightning... it's not just something that happens to other people
anymore.

Jeez! I've heard of aussie croc(k)s but this takes the cake! Does QLD realise what they are letting themselves in for this weekend?? Sounds like only a couple of the Lit meeting crowd will be on their feet (Bandit will be looking for a club that is open after 8 pm ;) ). I have phoned the "Flying Doctor" service and they will be on standby while ambulance staff have had all their leave cancelled.

Actually, I'm bloody jealous and wish you all a great weekend. :D

PS - keep wheelchair brakes on when parked near the pool and do NOT wave metal crutches on the dance floor in case you get caught up in the electrics :)
