Oh, now you've done it......

I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Well done! :rose:

Thanx
But it's not without sacrifice.... I eat very little these days, and what I do eat is 85% fresh veg.
But I am convinced that the Mean Green Juice is speeding up my metabolism.

I eat no where near as much as I used to & keeping a fairly well maintained weight but it is so easy to put weight on yet try to get it off GRRRR.

I think my metabolism has gone walk about since just before Xmas with all kinds of problems but my health goes in crazy cycles.

Wonderful BANDIT:heart: does & enjoys her gym work 3 times a week & come home all sweaty & red faced with a big smile on her face, boxing seems to be her favorite now, she loves getting young partners & had a young guy give up LOL.
It's also good for burning up the stress.

Sitting listening to some of my fav music and Jimmy Hendrix came on

"There must be some kinda way out of here"
Said the joker to the thief
"There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief"

"Businessmen, they, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody of it is worth", hey

"No reason to get excited"
The thief, he kindly spoke
"There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke"

"But you and I, we've been through that

And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
The hour is getting late", hey

Hey

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants too

Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl, hey

All along the watchtower
All along the watchtower

Hi and Hello to all

Hope all is well with all. Just buzzing in to say hi. Reading WQ and Gil's posts reminds me I need to shed my Winter fat and soon. I am inspired....I hope.

Mean Green Juice?????

Sounds like a footy team! ;):D

It's a juice blend I have every day. I started it to see if it might help my migraines (it did), and I've now modified so I'm eating again too (first 14 days were just juice).

As a footy team I wouldn't recommend naming them in the tipping comp!

:D Mmmm. Could explain why my tips are so abysmal.

Hope your arm is improving, WQ.

Just booked my flight to Brissy. Still sad that you and Orlanth won't be there. :(

Oh, and I've been looking at vege juicers. Which do you use?

I have the Breville Juice Fountain.
I chose this one for a few reasons -
it doesn't take up much space on my benchtop (I HATEHATEHATE clutter),
it was reasonably priced at $99 (and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do the juice thing forever, so wasn't prepared to spend big to start off with),
it is quite easy and quick to clean (important as some comments from juicing folk say they gave up because it was such a hassle to do the cleanup),
and it is powerful enough to do hard root vegetables (carrots and parsnip juice up really well in this one... I watched a demo instore at Harvey Norman before I bought it).

Are you planning to follow a particular juicing regimen?
I thorougly recommend the dvd 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead' available at woolies for $19-95.
The dvd has links to the Reboot program online, which is a great resource for juice recipes, and you don't have to sign up to access them!

Had major blood tests today - still trying to figure out exactly what is going on with gastric system. All have to be repeated on Monday, after fasting.
My ortho appt is next Friday, so hopefully I will have some news re my elbow then. I am completely O.V.E.R. feeling like a cripple and being so restricted with use!

And, as if that wasn't enough medical news, the littlest kidley bean has a [suspected] meniscus tear in his knee. MRI next week to confirm.

BUT! No1son is recovering nicely since his hospitalisation. He has finally begun to put on some weight (has gained 3 kg in the last 2 weeks, so now at 6 foot 3 he weighs 70kg) and his condition has begun to stabilise. The gastro doc told him quite bluntly that he was 24hrs away from a bowel resection! Scared the crap outta him!
Now he knows NOT to ignore the symptoms if they worsen.... 2 days max and then he must get himself to a hospital.

Rough time of it here too, I banged the side of my hand on the door catch taking a chunk out of my hand so with blood running & raced to the kitchen (didn't drop any on the carpet) & BANDIT:heart: put anticeptic cream on a band aid & all great right Na not me, it got infected so off to the quack & he gives me some antibiotics as it is the same arm as my fistula & an infection there could be a disaster.

So I'm being very good taking my meds which decide to cause a major bout of nausea & not a well boy at all so I stopped taking them sunday lunch time while I was out & by the time I got home I was screwed having all kinds of reactions but at least I'm slowly recovering with a minor up side to it all I got lots of sleep.

I have a suspected skin cancer on the back of my neck which gets the chop next tuesday just before we head out to Brissy.

When we get back it's more medical fun with the camera up my butt again after the last time I'm not real happy about it but the top dude is taking my chrage as they fucked up giving me the wrong info on restarting some of my drugs straight away when it should have had a longer break as I almost bleedout lost an estimated 2+ litres, was funny light head watching the doc struggling to get a canula in so he could pump in several litres of blood to replace the lost stuff, top dude explained how big the polyp was that had to be removed which was nothing like what they said in the ward after the op.

Fingers crossed no problems found this time.

Poor BANDIT:heart: puts herself through the wringer ever time I'm sick & she has been through so much in the time we have been together she should know I'm a fighter & won't give in.

Not long now till we will be in Brissy & really in hope of a slightly warmer climate there or at least for our visit, dry too would be nice as it seems a walk from the nearest train/ airport station, at least once we arrive we will know the way for the return trip LOL.

Will be great to meet some thread friends in real life for a change we are both looking forward to that.

:D:D

Hey Triskele,

I'm starting to not enjoy the whole ageing thing :(
I hope your tests come out ok...

And don't you just hate medical types that don't listen to the patient? I tell the nurses every time that they can't take blood from my right arm (the veins collapse), but they just HAVE to try anyway

Not long! Can feel the sun already!

Had tooth out today. Was threatening to derail my Brisso visit, but it's all good.

WQ, apparently I have 'lazy veins'. Getting a drip in or taking blood is a drawn out process, in unusual places. Just as well I never wanted to be a junkie, I suppose.

Hahaha.... I could never be a junkie! So far, I have had blood taken from my arm (with great difficulty), my ankle, and my groin.
Now that I've done the phlegbotomy course, I know that if you want success from difficult veins, it helps to have the person drink a litre of water in the hours leading up to the test. Dehydration (which most people are, daily) is the biggest cause of 'collapsing veins'.

I have my ortho appt this morning for my elbow. Hopefully, I'll come back with good news.
(Hopefully, I'll come back in one piece! The weather is absolutely shocking here this morning! Gale strength winds, hail, rain, you name it.)

Back home. Had a minor surgical procedure under local anaesthetic this morning, and am now in a sling for the next 6 weeks.
I can use my hand, but not my elbow.
The ortho is hoping this will work, as he is reluctant to perform a full surgical fix due to the low success rate for this particular injury.

The local block is wearing off now, and apparently I will hate the doc by the end of today.
:(

WoW, A litre of water is 2/3 my daily fluid limit of !,500 mls a day. :(

We do all my bloods when connecting the dialysis canulas then BANDIT:heart: runs them to the hospital pathology unit, silly thing is they won't give us our results so we ring the hospital dialysis unit & they let us know as we have to vary doses to suit blood results each week.

Good luck with your ortho.

Happy Mothers Day to all the gorgeous Mums :rose:

I have woken up to a house devoid of children... but they are all coming here later today.
And they have to cook for me too!

I know a trip like this is expensive so I do not expected it to happen for a couple of years. Trust me I know as I have done the reverse trip myself
