I am losing my assistant and glad she is moving on, but need to find someone fast. I told the lady at the agency I did not want someone straight from college. Booking my flights and checking my spelling/grammar (despite what you fuckers may think) is not a full time job so she would help around the office as well. I am not that needy and tend to get my own coffee and dry cleaning. At 35-40K I am looking for a stay at home mom rejoining the work force who will be happy with the position and can do the work. I told the agency I did not really care about education level. As long as they were very good with excel and power point I would be happy.

Of the 5 resumes she sent me all have BA's (3 are political science and one is philosophy, so I am not sure they count), and two have the MBA's!! One was the executive assistant for the COO of Foxnews.

I am out of touch it seems, no way did I think people like this would apply. There are all so over qualified that I worry how long they will be here.

Think I will go back and tell her to just send me someone with big tits ;)

My last clerk that had big tits was the best I've ever had.

What is sad is that some of the people who are overqualified may very well want the job and are not looking to jump ship at all.

Problem is, those that are hiring don't have the time to wait and see if that person will or not. Can't blame them but it ends up with the overqualified person not getting a job.

Maybe you should specify a maximum education level

That sounds like discrimination ;)

Fuck it, it is an assistant. The odds of finding someone happy to be an assistant the rest of their lives, that is not an idiot, is small regardless. I will just higher the one I like the best....even if she is over qualified.

I would not be mature enough to have a hot assistant. It's bad enough that we have hot babysitters.

Yep...I thought about this. Not getting a job because your over qualified does seem a bit stupid.

I thought of that

My ex-clerk with the big tits moved away when her hubby was transferred. She couldn't find work, so she went back to school. Now, she has one of those MBA degrees and works at a college down south for less than I'd pay her to be a clerk, here. But, her hub is there.

Down south pay likely lets her end up better off if what I hear about your cost of living is right.

And if she is in a job that doesn't care about her MBA that could explain it. I know I wouldn't pay an engineer an engineering wage if I hired him to be a welder

It's fucking retarded! Happening to me now. I wrote this in another thread that there is a doctor in my area who wasn't hiring but had to meet me. She told me, verbatim, "I have my office manager meet people and if she met with you, she would be intimidated."

I just want health benefits.

As for the assistant, I hope you find one who will not screw up what you need, have a brain in their head, and does not have an annoying personality. A nice body and face can make the day fly by!

I might have to promote myself to welder's helper.....

It's difficult at best to determined if someone is "over qualified" for a position based upon their level of education or past experience as presented on a resume. You, as an employer (or manager) should be able to make the "over qualified" decision on the first interview. I used to ask for feedback from job applicants after presenting one, or several, job related scenarios as to how they would react to a given situation or solve a particular problem. Responses would be both verbal and/or in writing. It's a tough task to make good hires in today's job market.

Age discrimination and other factors are definitely taboo, as we all are well aware of... but, a nice rack certainly helps, a great pair of legs is even better. ;)

Good Luck!

Hire the gay guy. :D

When you hire the over-qualified, don't expect any longevity.

Sounds like you should bypass the agency and say exactly what you said in your first post in a local news employment wanted ad.

I have several degrees and have held a few executive positions, when my life changed I went in a different direction and took a somewhat menial job at the company I work for now. I did it to be closer to my home and because I had two kids in diapers. Of course, because I'm awesome I got promoted in the first month and have been moving back up the ladder ever since.

My education did not entitle me to more, it just gave me a great wealth of expirience and knowledge to draw from. Hire the smart ones, they will be the ones to grow your business and challenge your thinking. If you hire some 20 something she will be more likely to quit at a moment's notice because some dude came riding past her on a big bike.

Plus you're kind of a judgmental asshole, don't be so.
