Why isn't there some way to monitor and then immediately ban spammers?
I'm sure there's more than just me who're getting a little sick of threads being interupted by multiple, repetitive spam posts.

And now my iggy list is becoming enormous because I have to keep adding to it.

I use the report function on spam.

It takes a few hours for the spam to vanish but if people have commented on the spam, worse still quoted it, it is likely to remain.

The worst spam is obvious. It is the apparently relevant spam that is more of a nuisance.

as ogg mentions, use the report button. don't reply or quote. the reports get seen to asap and the spammers eliminated. of course, if the thread becomes very funny due to regulars' posts, it may be worthwhile putting up with a little canned meat.

Perhaps they were dictating.

Before we discuss this topic, it would be helpful if you got your ass out of my face.

I was going to start a parody thread titled 'Spanners" but went with a Byron one instead.

I never click or quote. I just head straight to iggy.

putting spammers on ignore is a waste of effort since they rarely post more than a handful of times even if they don't get banned.

Sure, putting them on ignore requires effort. But, it is so worth it!
(hey, so, that is what the button with the exclamation sign on it, is for!)
