As to the censoring, that's the avenue Lit decided to take when the whole government 2257 kicked it. It was either change it to soft nudes, or be forced to have every "models" info on file for the government (which would include all names used, real and fake, their address, and other personal info). It would have been a bitch for Lit to get info from EVERYONE that posts pix on Lit, and they knew nobody would want to supply the site with that info.

I'm not sure if the govt backed down on the whole 2257 thing or not. Haven't researched it lately. But THAT is why Lit doesn't allow a lot of stuff. It's just a lot of people on here don't look into it. They're clueless as to why it's so censored on here.

I answered the PM, and I tried to explain about 2257.


I'll say a little here as well.

Back in the day, the govt was trying to crack down on child porn. They came up with 2257 as a means to make sure everyone was a legal adult posting pix/vids. Any site that was "hosting" said material (like Lit) had to begin the process of getting ALL info on ALL "models", including all their names (real and any stage names), their address, SS #, etc etc etc.

The other option was for said sites (LIT) to allow only soft nudes (like what you would see in an art exhibit/museum). Lit decided to go with that option rather than forcing everyone to have their personal info on file.

ANY site that hosts such material should be following this law. Any owner of said site that was caught hosting anything but soft nudes and not having the info on file could face up to $5,000 PER offence and up to 5 to 10 years in jail PER offence. Needless to say, Lit didn't want to deal with that, and that is why they try to crack down on anything but soft nudes.

As I've said before, I have no idea if the 2257 law has been repealed or eased up on. I haven't researched any of it since when it first appeared several years ago.
But that is the jist of the law, why it's in place, and why Lit (and any other site) had to stop showing anything but soft nudes.
