Why will you vote for Obama in November?

So you're out because Obama chose to accept a more conservative solution to expanding the health insurance pool than he initially wanted?

Strange that someone who voted for Obama in 2008 would now change her mind because ... he did exactly what he said he was going to do in 2008.

America is too important to leave to the whims of those the liberals like to refer to as children. We need to raise the voting age to 25.

America is too important to leave to the whims of those the Conservatives like to refer to as relevant. We need to stop the voting age at 65.

I thought that he'd come up with a reasonable plan, not a fascist one cooked up by the Heritage Foundation. I'm not too thrilled with Romney, either, but at least he never pretended to be a progressive. He's a pragmatist, which is better than a sham reformer. I really preferred Hillary, anyway.

My own health plan would simply nationalize the worst offenders, restructure them, and then privatize them through IPOs. The only losers would be the nimrods who imposed pre-existing conditions and other stupid rules.

As for me, however, I don't need or want health insurance. If my health declines, I'll deal with it. But for me, it's best to limit it to emergencies. For which I can pay out of pocket, because I'm rich enough.

Um... what does that sign mean?

A happy woman is a man?

I'm sure that she's talking about contraception. Frankly, I'm glad that some of the scarier right-wing anti-contraception thugs are out of the running. I'm disgusted by the comments about Sandra Fluke. But I also think that forcing people (Catholics) to violate their religious scruples smacks of Fascism, not freedom.

Your rich enough to pay out of pocket for medical bills in case you have a heart attack, or get cancer?

If youre that well off, then I dont think you should be required to buy insurance.

Obama did not come up with the individual mandate. Obama's plan was a combination between a medicare buy-in (the public option) and expanded increased responsibilitites for employers. But congress grinds the sausage.

Republicans, among them Chuck Grassley and Lamarr Alexander, were the ones who came up with the individual mandate in the 90's. That was the only way to expand the insurance pool that was accepted by Blue Dog dems and Joe Lieberman.

I don't mind you voting for Obama, Romney, or whoever else. But please do it for a reason based in reality. Vote against Obama because he wasn't a stong enough negotiator to avoid the individual mandate that both you and he didn't want. But don't vote against him because he "came up with it".

Personally, I'd have respected him more if he had just said "Fuck it" and pushed for single payer. It wouldn't have passed, of course, which would have been a nice bonus. This plan is a national economic death by a thousand cuts. Not to mention the destruction of our freedoms.

But that's my inner Rothbardite speaking. :D

...because a bunch of mind-numbed idiots holding signs with half-assed Alinsky-style slogans makes it seem really cool to be for Obama...

How about some facts to back up the Obama campaign's half-assed slogans?
What are Alinsky-style slogans? Yiddish ones?

America's youth is speaking, again! They have grown tired of your greedy ways and are ready for a new America.
If you don't like it you are free to leave!

No, "community" pressure group protest signs, written up by the various factions of the radical left coalition. This group and that group of fools whose understanding of politics and government comes from their professors and the works of Saul Alinsky, Van Jones, Frank Davis, etc.

Personally, I'll stick with Lysander Spooner, Murray Rothbard, Ayn Rand, etc. :D

So you admit to not really knowing Obama's policies before voting.
Thanks for the vote!

Such is the voice of freedom. Comply or face exile. How "liberating".
