Alberta provincial election

So, if you're a doctor in Alberta and don't want to be told you have to murder a child please come to America for freedom. We can use your talents here.

 What results were you hoping for in this election, and what does it have to do with any of that?!

or you're a doctor in Alberta and don't want to operate on a homosexual man, please go to America.. because in Canada, you're supposed to be a fucking doctor first and not a religous figure

Most competitive election in Alberta in what, like, 100 years?

Very competitive race though the results were any thing but.

A great day for those who like to say "The only poll that counts is the one at the ballot box."

Wild Rose was in the lead a couple of days ago according to the polls. Here is a story from Saturday that that predicts a slight majority for Wild Rose. Results from three different pollsters.

Predicted Wild Rose majority

Alberta, let your hair hang down
Alberta, let your hair hang down
I'll give you more gold
Than your apron can hold
If you'll only let your hair hang down

Alberta, don't you treat me unkind
Alberta, don't you treat me so unkind
You keep me so worried
You keep me bothered all the time
Alberta, don't you treat me unkind

[repeat first verse]

Apropos of nothing, just something I remember from an old Chad Mitchell Trio album.

The Wildrose Alliance was visciously attacked for having the evil audacity to even suggest that doctors be allowed conscience rights not to preform abortions. In fact, in Canada, that is considered "extremism."

Even Harry Blackmun, who penned Roe vs. Wade in the US, was a staunch proponent of conscience rights for doctors who wished not to preform abortions. The father of abortion in America would be an "extremist" in today's Alberta. Its actually just sad.

If a Canadian doctor refuses to perform an abortion, can he be arrested or fined or sued or fired or what?

And what if his defense is, "But, I'm a pulmonologist!!"?

Not too sure about that. As fart as I know abortions are available at clinics from Doctors who are willing to perform the proceedure.

For sure wihh Gay marriage the cleric has the option to refuse to perform the ceremony. (i.e. if he were a Catholic priest) I would think that the same right would be extended to Doctors.

how the hell is the practitioning of medicine the license to push your beliefs on your patients?

leave your religon out of my uterus.. if you don't want to perform abortions, don't be a doctor that performs them.. Canada does not force doctors to practise every field of medicine... fuck, you're a dumbass

wildros also said that gays were evil, and that climate change doesnt exist
