Christian writers and readers meet here!

*waves* I'm sorry Iv'e not been around. I'm going to post properly soon, I promise. This is just a fly by.

Wishing you all the best. Isn't God Grand?

prayers sent out for all of those in need. I'm so thankful for this community, God had blessed me so much through it.

Can I ask you to please pray for a little girl, Alice, who is only 1 day old. She has an infection and they're going to have to do a lumbar puncture to find out if it's gone to the brain. She is the granddaughter of my Mum's friend and I know the little darling needs all the prayer support she can get right now!

I will put baby Alice on my prayer list and her family, too.

God can, and does, do miracles. Nine years ago a sweet little 8 month old baby boy was diagnosis with extra-ventricular hydrocephalus. The doctors said he could very possibly be retarded (probably not the politically correct term now days). Today he reads at 9th grade level. His motor skills are not as developed as other children his age, but you can only tell it if he tries to skip. God truly is good.

Baby Alice is doing okay. The first set of test results have come through clear and they're the real big 'nasties' so that is encouraging. She's waiting on some more tomorrow but she could definitely do with the prayers still and her family too.

Thank you. :)

I’m so glad baby Alice’s first tests had good results. Please let us know how the last ones turned out when you are able. Alice and her family continue to be in my prayers along with Luna and Debbie.

Prayers for Maddie

John - Thanks for posting! I'm keeping Maddie in my prayers and hope to talk with her tomorrow. Hopefully, she'll be feeling well enough to be on her computer for a little bit. Thank you for being so concerned about the twin of my heart!

Maddie, darlin' - Take your horse pills and get rid of whatever attacked your system. I know we didn't talk about any rules, but here's the first one for you: you are simply not allowed to be sick and offline for so darn long. Knock it off and start gabbing with me again. I miss you very much, twinnie.

Pat

Thanks for the prayers

Just a quick note to thank everyone who put me on their prayer list. I am feeling better but the doctor has said it will take 2-3 weeks to regain my strength. This was a very nasty bug and I hope no one else has to contend with it. It has messed up our Easter plans to visit family, but our own church always has a beautiful service so all won’t be lost.

I’m hoping to attend Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services. Thursday if I make it will be the first time I’ve been out except to visit the doctor in about 4 weeks.

I did go outside in our own yard Sunday and yesterday just for a little bit. It was wonderful to breathe the clean fresh air.

Thanks again for praying for me and I hope you all have a very blessed Easter.

Maddie

Maundy Thursday

Some thoughts. This evening we'll be seeing the clergy ceremonially wash parishioners' feet. Makes me nervous; reminds me of Peter: "Lord, you will never wash my feet!" Then we'll remember the Institution of the Mass on that Thursday night so long ago at the Eucharist, strip the altar and change veilings on crucifixes and images from purple to black.

Then I get more nervous. "Maundy Thursday" was (sorry if I'm telling y'all what y'all already know) Mandatum Thursday from "mandatum novum tibi ago", "a new commandment I give to you."

It's bad enough our Blessed Lord and Savior told me to love my neighbor as myself. I could always cop out on that one by not loving myself very much. The Marxist (Groucho, not Karl) cop-out: "Any club that would have me as a member I wouldn't want to join."

But then He took away that cop-out with His new commandment: "Love one another as I have loved you." And I can't pretend He only meant the 12.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an easy religion? But He took away that cop-out too.

One man promised...

One died condemned, One died forgiven,
One died innocent...

One died in sin, One died to sin,
One died for sin...

One was held by death, One was released by death,
One conquered death...

A very Happy Easter to everyone

Although I am not of the faith I would like to take a moment to wish you all a happy Easter.

This is another holy day that has become commercialized. More about Easter eggs hunts and chocolate bunnies, than what it truly represents.

But there are many out there who still appreciate the true meaning of Easter and to those I wish you well and hope you enjoy your day.

The Lord has shown us the Way the Truth and the Light. Please join and continue in prayer for LunaEroticaMystic as she continues her recovery. Amen

:) I am soooooo happy to have been led to this thread by my Higher Power! :)

...and His kid aint a bad tour guide neither! ;) A Christian group on an erotic writer's site!!! Who says God doesn't work in mysterious ways???

Permit me to tell some about myself.

My pen name is J. Kendall Dane, but I will answer most quickly to "Hey, Josh" usually.

I am old enough to buy liquor, but not old enough for Social Security. (i think everything in between is just a route number on the journey)

I grew up in a small town on the Ohio River doing the small town SE Ohio stuff a boy does. Like boy scouts, football, hunting, skinny dipping, church camp, trying to lose their virginity, and most importantly: keeping the attraction for other boys very deep in the closet. "Nail that sucker shut AND bury the hammer too!" was the unstated rule of life.

I spent my youth being force fed an uber-conservative version of religion at an even more unber-conservative Church of Christ congregation. One that can only be described as believing that Billy Graham was a flaming, screaming, apostate liberal; and that they; WERE IN FACT 'CAUSE IT'S IN THE BIBLE; "gonna be the ONLY ones to get to heaven!" (needless to say, i escaped that situation and brainwashing as soon as it was feasible)

Many twists & turns, and wide boulevards & trips down side roads, and a few dusty trails & hacking a path thru a jungle or two later....God told the prodigal son to 'come home'....and I did thanks to the Metropolitan Community Churches. ("told" isn't the correct word, but "nudged me towards a door and finally just yanked my ass inside & slammed it down in a pew for what He wanted me to hear" sounds so wrong! LOL)

I do write gay smut for the site. But I also tend to somehow weave God, and Christ, and even a Bible verse reference into a storyline at times. Haven't been stoned for it yet; but ya never know. Still finding out about how some people will take two gay lovers holding hands at a sunrise praise service being the paragraph following an intense (and highly descriptive) love making scene from the night before on the spring break cruise they are on.

(as i told another author friend from LE; that i trade emails with often; just a day or two ago: "If Mr. & Mrs. Uptite Uprite Baptist can get naked and do it on the kitchen table after pot luck Sunday to burn off the extra calories....why can't their 18 year old son and his 25 y/o "best buddy" do the same thing in the barn? Call it God's way of saying "It's ok & thanks for being in the choir, guys!" :D )

Anywhooooo.....just really, really, REALLY happy to have found you guys....and hope to be a semi-regular.

I will leave you with what I adopted as my mantra when it comes to explaining faith and God and "religious" stuff:

"God gave us dogs so we would understand what love means; and then He invented cats so we could comprehend what He wanted us to know about serving others!" (there is really wild 'No God didn't!' story behind where that originated; but that's for another time)

:rose: Blessings each day everyone!!!

Just popped in to say Little Baby Alice is doing really well. She's happy, healthy and has been putting on weight as expected. Thanks for all your prayers!

Hello and welcome to my little corner of lit-space. :) God does move in mysterious ways and every time a new friend pops in here I get another blast of thankfulness that I listened to God and created this thread all those years ago now. It beings so many blessings. :)

It's lovely to have you aboard!

I write smut of all kinds and have recently had some revelations that lead me to believe I'm called to do so. As weird as that might seem to some! I'm finding more and more that the church is what puts people off Christ. In fact the church is doing a good job of putting me off church at the moment but thats a tale for another time.

Welcome Josh, good to have you here. :)

Prayers answered!

Just popped in to say Little Baby Alice is doing really well. She's happy, healthy and has been putting on weight as expected. Thanks for all your prayers!

I haven’t been on Lit much lately and probably won’t be on for a while again, but I’m sure glad I checked today. I have been wondering how baby Alice was. Thank you so much dear English Lady for giving us an update.

I'm finding more and more that the church is what puts people off Christ. In fact the church is doing a good job of putting me off church at the moment but thats a tale for another time.

First....thank you for the welcome! :cattail:

That part of your comment is something that it took me many, many years to get thru and over; in order to continue the walk I was supposed to be taking, but hadn't been.

I'm no 'there every Sunday' or 'member of the choir' or 'big tither' or all the other things some people think "being a GOOD Christian" must be....but I am at peace with my Maker and Savior. Of all the other drama and trauma of being gay; that one is most likey the most serious one many have to deal with to be able to become whole, or so they can even accept themselves first. Because of a long-standing friendship with the Christian (and gay & legally married to each other) singing duo of 'Jason & deMarco' I more than share their deep concern for the number of gay teen suicides that have roots in Sunday schools and pulpits. :(

That; among many other things; had me finally decide that the biggest problem with organized religion is that it *IS* organized! Far too often, churches look more like a business, and operate like a political convention with all the back room meetings and plotting & planning; than it does the faith family they claim to be.

Well....that and the fact that I really believe, that thanks to all the various denominations and diametrically opposed interpretations of scripture they come up with; that "organized" religion today, is little more than the modern day version of the Tower of Babel.

Most of them have forgotten the so very basic teachings of the two men that probably were the most successful while spreading the Good News during their walks on the earth....Christ and Billy Graham. Both worked from the premise that it isn't about "looking like a good christian" or "belonging the correct church"; but rather having a PERSONAL relationship and be at peace with God. And then sharing that by LIVING it. :)

That belief comes from discovering a verse in the Bible, few people realize is there. Most everyone that's ever been to more than 3 church services, knows what John 3:16 says....and can quote it even. But few "good Christians" and their pastors too; can't tell you what the very next verse says....and I believe those two are back-to-back for a reason.

Nope! Not going to quote it....go look it up, if you (the general you) don't know either. That's "homework" for everyone today. :D ;)

LuvZya all and blessings all day long!
