In some ways it's better than what you started with; in other ways, it's not. The titling is arranged badly. The title is set too high and the author's name is out of balance. And the display font is not good design. Perhaps it's the best you can do with the program you're working with, though.

It looks a lot clearer than the first version.

But again the font is very blocky. You don't need any fancy software to create good fonts

Just go here.

Here ya go...enjoy. This is the size I submit all my cover art to Smashwords. I do have the larger size one if you like the font I used. PM me you email if you do.

I agree font could use tweaking. Drop the title down...imagine it starting right below where it now ends. Maybe R.Richard vertically down the right side to draw the eye down her body.

Zeb, I believe what he's after, more than getting this single cover together,
is figuring out how to use what he has to make decent covers going forward.

I already made the same offer :)

Like the flesh tone for "Topless" on yours.

As to the current version, R. Richard:

The title is still just too small, and too plain.

Where I would start first is small. You need to have it take up more of that empty space.

I like the size if the text, the font, not so much. I have found out how to get a larger type size and I'll try that in the future.

I want to thank everyone who responded. I think that I need to upgrade my covers and I think that I'm now on the right track, with help from you guys.

No. I mean, I can't execute the turn. I'm only a two-dimensional author.

No problem. Just ask her nicely in Mongolian to turn and lower her arms, and she'll be happy to do it. You'll need to use the Khalkha dialect, though. She's a simple yurt girl.

Yeah, the font...it's too bad there weren't two ohs in the word, then they would have looked like boobs with that font.

I have a "ton" of fonts...sometimes it's hard to decide which one to use. Sometimes I have up to ten versions of a cover before I finally decide on which one to use.

Hey Dark, I like your version too.

ETA: R. what graphics software are you using?

Mine was just a quick mock-up, really.

Used the same colors as RRs and a standard font.

When I do mine, it takes me forever to find the right font, too.

Luckily, I don't have to worry about which ones I can use,
because none of my covers are for commercial purposes :p

Nah - not Mongolian. Try Setswana, northern territories.
