Has anyone else experienced a real drop in scores?

As an aside to the topic of scores, what do you feel is a decent score for a story? Other than having the coveted little red H, isn't a 4 or better out of 5 still considered good, or even great? Where do you feel a story becomes just okay?

I think if the score drops below 4 it's just okay.

But I never let that affect me when reading. If a title and tag line grabs me I read it regardless of score. Erotica is very subjective.

I've read 4.8 stories that I did not really enjoy, but some in the 3's that I thought were really good.

And honestly I have never obsessed with my scores. I have good ones, but think it's because I have been good with disclaimers and also just don't care.

It takes a bit of math:

The most common example is 10 votes with a score of 5.00 --> 11 votes with a score of 4.64 ==> ten five votes followed by one troll vote.

My experience with those threatening to leave the site and/or not post anymore (ie dannykat, moonman, dumb Texan, miss omega, lovergirl, etc., etc.) is that, unfortunately, they never follow through on their promises.

As to your complaining that your story is now only at 4.70 may I suggest you get a life. Do you know what the various scores represent. Let me remind you:

5 represents “Loved It – One of the Best”
4 represents “Really Liked it – Good Read”

And quite frankly your story doesn’t even rate a 4.00 in my opinion. It’s an average level tale by an amateur author compared to other stories on this amateur erotic site. A score of 3.00 to 3.50 would be more than adequate for your work. And I’m not trying to insult you – simply pointing out that scores (and authors expectations re scores) on LITEROTICA are ridiculously high.​

The contest sweeps likely took out a lot of votes across the board. If you haven't looked in the last two or three days, you probably had a few troll votes get caught in the contest Hoovering.

Or, Laurel had some spare time and did a manual check of bombing reports she saw in the thread.

The pattern you reported is fairly obvious, and would be easy to check with nothing more than your author name. Sweep for low votes cast in a time frame, and if the IPs match, nuke 'em.

Sounds like Laurel did a manual sweep for you, then. Odds are, it helped out others as well. Once you identify a troll voting maliciously, it doesn't make sense to leave any of their votes standing.

Match the IP once identified, and eliminate every vote cast by it in the whole database within the same time frame.

That's what I would do, anyway.

Same with me.

I've posted 3 stories for the contest, each finding their own average score after a 24 hour period. After a while, all 3 stories starting taking a dip.

And after the recent sweeps, they went back up to their previous score. I really don't think about people trolling or 1 bombing or whatever, but whatever is being done in terms of the sweeps is okay in my book.

Before getting hacked, a lot of my stories were scored higher than his, so if he says Lit readers are kind in giving scores well into the 4's when he believes they should be in the 3's, imagine where he believes his own stories should be. I would think somewhere in the 2's...maybe less.
