Does anyone else have it? What is this white shit that's all over my frying pans? Is it bad for me? Because I can't get it off.

Mineral deposits? My kettle gets coated in white stuff over time. We have a lime quarry nearby. It's in the tap water.

Is this a new issue for your well?

I just haven't used it in so long, washed dishes in it and whatnot- when I was living in the city I had city water. It's like a discoloration, not a mineral deposit. I was wondering if it was related to the way it turns your skin orange.

I don't drink this shit. But I do cook in it. So... I'm fucking retarded.

And I don't wanna wash dishes because I got this wrap on my hand, so I was hoping it was edible...

Apparently, it doesn't kill you. I cooked on it and I'm still alive. I'm hard to poison, though.

High mineral content water is generally better for you than soft water. Contributes to better bones and teeth.
This, of course, assumes there's nothing toxic in your well water.

Oh, it's toxic as hell. There's a strip mine right up the hill. Sometimes it comes out in different colors!

We've had this fight. My grandpa told them not to put in city water against my grandma's will- it's this giant, huge thing. He was all, "I'M NOT PAYING FOR WATER! THAT'S STUPID! IT'S LIKE PAYING FOR AIR!!"

And she was like, "YOU'RE STUPID- I HATE THE FUCKING WELL!! IT GOES DRY! IT'S POLLUTED! IT TURNS SHIT ORANGE!! IT DESTROYS EVERYTHING! WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS BECAUSE OF THAT GODDAMN WATER!!"

And it comes up literally every day.

Apparantly, because he didn't put the meter in when they asked him, it's super expensive to put one in now, and he's to proud to admit he made a mistake and pay it. Even though I'll hear him sometimes when he's doing something that requires water and he thinks no one's around going, "wish I'd got that fucking water..."

He talks to himself, under his breath a lot... That can't be good...

sounds like high sulfur and iron content to me.

Yeah but... I just fucking put the softener shit in there yesterday...

I hate this motherfucking well... I wanna move back to civilization where you turn on the water, it comes out, and that's the end of it.

do you know what that white stuff is in chicken shit?

I have never contemplated chicken shit. I just know that it gets everywhere. It's the only animal I've ever seen that will go out of it's way to shit in it's own water- like, you know how the water thing is high and angled- to keep them from shitting in it, and they STILL SOMEHOW DO!?

WTF, chickens? Srsly?

Maybe you should read the manual on the softener and figure out if there are times you shouldn't be using water? We had one that had a backwash cycle that was 2 hours. We could set the backwash for specific days and times, so, I always set it to start around midnight. If we used water during the backwash cycle, we got 'bad' water in the pipes and had to flush them.

It was only supposed to be an hour, but that was- what is it, Fri now? It was Wens night that I put it in there- so I know it's been more then an hour. It's like a build-up that's been happening since I started washing my dishes here. I just thought it was weird, because it was only on mine- it wasn't on the Teflon.

I still don't understand how they get it fucking everywhere. Chickens are nasty critters.
