Not all twins, of course, but if one is more sexually aware, wouldn't their twin be, too? If they don't have a huge "ick" factor built in, then why wouldn't they cross that line?

Yah... Me and my sister couldn't procreate either. Neither could me and my father since he got his wires cut. It still freaks me out thinking about having any sexual desire towards either of them.

Incest squick is instinctual because we are afraid of procreating with someone close to us. The technology to safely and completely prevent procreation has only been around for a hundred years or so (yes, contraception existed thousands of years ago, but trust me, a lot of the time it wasn't pretty.)

A couple decades of safer sex does not erase that instinct. Incest just squicks me because I cannot for the life of me see how anyone could be attracted to their nuclear family. Cousins, I can kind of understand. Especially if you haven't had a lot of interaction with them over the years.
