NRA gathers amid growing storm over gun laws

Critics see the laws as part of a national campaign by the National Rifle Association, which began gathering on Thursday in St. Louis for its annual meeting, to push back against limits on gun ownership and use.

the NRA may be overreaching.

by being so aggressive, they may ultimately marginalize themselves.

neither florida's efforts to squelch the first amendment in the name of guns nor its broad expansion of the castle doctrine help the NRA's cause.

That never seemed to bother the NAACP. The NRA meeting has been scheduled for at least 4 years. :)

i don't know about the NAACP, but many civil rights activists have marginalized themselves by being overly aggressive.

my guess is most americans will always support robust policies permitting gun ownership. that is a different thing, though, than an unfettered right to own and use guns.

There happen to be rules to prevent that, just none against block captains.
