In less than 24 hours might right knee will be replaced by a man-made contraption.
I've been putting this off for six years. Afraid of the pain.
But you know what? Nothing can compare to the pain of being rejected by Doll_Parts85.

She saved you from yourself. You might have been replacing something else tomorrow if not for the rejection...

The fun isn't over yet.

Just wait till you start the physical therapy.

Hang in there.

My wife and several friends have had double knee replacements. You've got the motion machine delivered to your house already, so when you go home, it's there, waiting for you? Believe me, it will be your best friend.

I've always heard that people who need both knees worked on always have them done at the same time because if they only did one at a time nobody would ever go back for the second.

For the love of god and all things holy, have them replace your funny bone while they're in there.

(My dad's friend got a fake knee at around 70; it radically changed his life, all for the better. Good luck.)

Interesting...I heard the opposite.: one knee at a time. In case things go haywire you can still walk with a cane.

:rose:

i hope surgery goes well. may you be able to bend over easily again soon.

I have no idea. I go by what I've heard since I've never had any work done on anything and only know one person who's had knee surgery.

And if both are worked on, you don't favor one or the other during recovery.

A walk in the park. You will wonder why you waited so long.:)

Oooh, you're gonna be a cyborg!!! That is fucking awesome!

Good luck and I hope everything goes well!

This. ^^^

My mom had both done, separately. It turned out hey gave her a defective model of knee so she had to have them both done again; again, separately.

She still says she would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Best decision she ever made.

And I second Thor on the motion machine. Don't get cheap and think you can recover/PT without it. Get the motion machine for at home.

I never thought about this before, but almost everyone I know over 65 has had at least one knee done - and a few have had both knees plus hips.
I am praying I take after mums side - nobody on her side has had anything replaced.

In any case, all that is irrellevent... hope your surgery and recovery is uneventful :rose:
