Ukraine, world, need capital punishment

Hopefully this will be the impetus for Ukrainians to restore capital punishment.

Not only Ukraine, but all countries which have eliminated this legitimate and essential punishment for the most heinous murders and street crimes, need to re-institute it.

Shame on those who oppose capital punishment for such heinous murders.

Pro-Life conservatives are all for executions in third-world countries.

Don't know what conservative or third world have to do with anything, but if you're pro-life you should definitely believe in an eye for an eye. Of course, the Catholic Church is completely wrong on the issue.

What if you're a Christian? Christ wholly rejected an eye for an eye. How do you reconcile Christ-following with execution?

First off, when does religion drive public policy today? Secondly, I've never heard that. Do you have Bible passages? Not that it should matter anyway in relation to policy.

Matthew 5:38-40

38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.

Of course Religion matters in public policy. Ask any Christian Conservative.

That passage doesn't appear to me to say that the state can't execute anyone only that an individual Christian should turn the other cheek in a personal confrontation.

What's your feeling about these fine young lads who did this heinous act? Should they get a cot and three hots in a cozy cell for a few years, maybe just give them some probation? What's fair?

Solitary confinement, a toilet, three meals with exactly figured nutritional value, two liters of clean drinking water, and one hour per day of exercise outside with other such pieces of human shit.

Anyone who supports state-sanctioned executions has entirely too much faith in the government.

That's the exact passage Christian Churches use to reject execution.

What does it matter how I feel about the people who committed the act? I didn't even read the article. It doesn't matter to me what it says though, as I've worked with enough sexually abused children to see more than my share of heinous stuff.
