Writing Goal for the Day?

I struggled to find a believable connection between my characters. Although they don't all know each other, they all work for the MC. Then a comment from my writing partner gave me the perfect idea. So that's what I worked on today.

Good luck ML - I've struggled in similar directions, trying not to step too much on a reader's ability to suspend disbelief. Frustrating when characters don't want to play along.

Another 300-word contest entered, and hopefully it's well received. This flash story I'm not looking to win, this one SCREAMED to be told.

I have more stories screaming, or is it the voices?

Much closer to finishing the rewrite of Part One for my big ass novel. Then I'll slide into Part Two and rewrite it, before going back to Part Three with a fresh perspective and writing it so it fits with the new flow of the story.

Good luck!! I've never been past the outline stage of novel writing.

Thank you. :) I've written a couple, but not polished them to where I know they would do very well if placed either on Lit., or produced for publication. This one though will be around 100K when I'm done, if every part follows the same word count as the other parts and I've got one editor that is editing as I go and another that said they would when the whole piece was done. It's initially for Lit., if I decide to take a stab at publishing it, then it would be the one I'd use.

Considering what I've seen on Lit, your unpolished work would be fine.

Good luck with the publishing. I've thought of, when I have the full-time to put into it, using Barnes and Noble epublishing for novels...and sending short stories the many ezines out there

Thank you very much on all accounts and if you do decide to take a stab at publication, good luck to you too. I'm not in a hurry, so if/when it happens great. :)

Today's writing goal was to complete the editing suggestions that two folks had a hand in offering. Both were very helpful and tonight I submitted a story for the Mature Category.

I'll start working on rewriting Part 2 of the Novel and then look for the muse to weave a Lesbian story for submission.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. :rose:

Thanks. I finished a chapter connecting several characters and have a start on the next chapter. The words are in my head, but my OCD isn't cooperating. I'm never happy with the sentences I write, so I delete them, try again . . . and delete those as well.

OMG, I'm writing the chapter from hell. Almost 25k words and the damn thing won't stop. It's a frickin story in itself, lmao :D

Happy writing :)

My Earth Day story got up to 80k so I had to shelve it for next year.

I'm thinking of breaking it up into 2 chapters now. 12-13k a chapter is a decent read. ;)

Unless it is a novel I don't care for chapters. (Chapters in the case of a novel can be kept within the book) Chapters are treated as stories in all the lists and that is not fair to stand alone stories in the least. I've done a couple of chaptered stories and I think it would have been better if I had posted them as a novel

I have a 287 page novel I'm thinking about test posting here. I may have to post it in 5 chapter chunks but I'm going to check with Laurel first.

I agree Tx. It shows I have 60 stories, but there's actually only 18-20 stories written. Some of the chapters do well and some don't, whereas, if it was judged as a whole, it would be fairer to the story that way. I like chaptered stories, but wish they were marked differently, say take an average of all the chapters to it, to give an overall score, or something. ;)

That is the way I see it. Or have no score until the story is complete. Then it can be averaged for the whole.

sigh... I have two contests I'm writing for with end of April deadlines for both and a story for an online mag due the same time, and the contest work is about half done whilst the mag is barely started.

And in the mean time Diana of the Deal is screaming in my head as she really, really wants to have some sex. It's been quite awhile for the poor girl.

Just trying to get more editing done on two mainstream books. Managed to get a story submitted to Lit., though.

Working on a new story - Erotic Horror - still need to get the muse flowing for the Lesbian category, but just not feeling anything quite yet. I also want to do some editing on Part 2 of the Novel. It shouldn't have too much editing, since most of the details worked out in Part 1 don't transfer overly much into Part 2.

Back from visiting the in-laws for the weekend, no writing done. Read over a story from someone who asked me to review, but I couldn't give it a good one for various mechanical and content reasons, so I won't give one at all. Started editing for someone else. Tomorrow is a school day or PennGirl, so hopefully that time window can be mine for my writing...

Writing time likely shot today -- PennGirl will go to school, but PennBoy is not feeling well. We're thinking he may go in late, but ... rats.

I'm working on Part 2 of the larger piece and then will work more on the Erotic Horror if time and space and all that stuff line up well for me.

Phew that is done for now. :D I added an additional 5000 words to get the backgrounds of several characters taken care of. :) Now I think I'll just relax a bit and flutter about Lit.

The relaunch version of Man's Man back to the publisher. Need to review a story for habu's next anthology, Grab Bag 2, and also work on two mainstream edits. No new erotica writing for a while.
