I remember hearing somewhere that the weekends were a bad time to post, so I always tried to avoid them, but somehow all of my recent stories managed to get released on weekends, mostly sundays.

However, I finally timed it so one of my stories got out on a weekday, and it only has two comments.

What are the best days to post?

This was just covered on the Earth Day thread. I have found I get more reads out of the gate by having my stories go up on Thursday mornings. I imagine part of my getting more reads then, though, is that I post a story nearly every week, so I guess there are some regular readers who come looking for them on Thursday morning.

I don't know the best day, but I THINK that if you request that your story be released on a certain date, abet after the normal lag/review delay, Kitty Mama will most likely comply.

My question is, seeing as how a story stays on the "New" list and most people scan the list by catagory anyways, what difference does it make? (just curious).

The day is important, because it appears that most of the reads on a story happen within the first couple of days of being posted--mostly one day, because that's how long they stay on page one of the "New" list, assuming they even get posted to the top page. What people are really looking for in asking this question, I think, is whether there's one day that's better than another for a peak in folks coming to Literotica to read a story. It's logical to assume that there are times/days that are better than others. My observation is that Thursday is best, and Friday is second best (and Sunday is worst).

But interesting that safe-bet Usurper, who has never ever posted anything to the Lit. story file (the works in that name are those of someone else), has guidance to give on this.

Perhaps if there is a rare instance of requesting that a story post on a specific day, Laurel can handle this. It's very unlikely she can add this on as a general, frequent service to what she's already burdened with in posting 60-some stories every day.

I just want the record to show, that if this turns into a shit-storm, that is it SR who threw the first poo.

That's not poo, honey. That was a fact. She hasn't posted a single work to Lit. She's admitted as much. There are works in her name, but they weren't written or posted by her. So, she knows nothing from experience on posting works to Lit. Just a fact.

And if this turns into a fight, you egged it on.

Even if it is. It was YOU who called her the usurper. And YOU who made the snarky comment that she shouldn't be qualified to answer my question. I'm not sure why I'm bothering. I like your stories, and at the very beginning of my posts I tried to be your friend, but it's just hard! At first I thought that LC was being the meanie, but you're just obtuse!

No, he just stated a fact that we can all verify independently if we want to. Nothing wrong with that.

Umm. She is the usurper (get a dictionary). She isn't safe-bet. She's usurped a dead woman's account.

And she isn't qualified to answer your question. She's never posted anything to the story file. (which is the point. The original safe-bet has works posted to Lit. The ursurper, by her own occasional admission has nothing of her own posted to Lit.)

So, you are the one being obtuse here. I'm not posting that to be mean. I'm just pointing to facts.

Fine. You didn't start it. But you are still a tactless little SOB

I guess you get off on being abusive?

So, now it's changed on who the first one to be abusive on this thread was, right? ;)

You get that prize.

Ummm... Actually he did years ago when he initially attacked my late wife (who REALLY hated his ass, BTW).

As for his bullshit allegations, my wife FREAKIN ASKED ME TO MAINTAIN THIS ACCOUNT and if you look under my screen name I make it clear who I am.

As for SR's "facts" vs. my clearly stated "I THINK" opinions you can take or leave what you will. All I KNOW is that on several occasions my Suzy requested a specific release date and Laurel was kind enough as to comply. (In other words, I've got historical results on my side as opposed to SR's talking out of his negative ass).

*******

@ PennLady: And what the fuck is YOUR problem, darlin? You gonna start defending SR starting shit IN YET ANOTHER THREAD? (and PLEASE don't give me any shit like calling me a "Usurper" is simply stating facts and not starting shit).

Nope. That prize goes to you for post #4, Butt Nugget!

Wrong. My post #4, responded nicely to your post, and then pointed out a fact--you have never posted anything to the Lit. story file (in fact, your sole "contribution" to the Lit. has been abusive forum posts), so you aren't qualified to talk statistics and probabilities in story posting strategies.

In fact, I have been the only one here who has provided substantive information to Cruel's question.

If Cruel wants to go down your garden path with you, she's certainly welcome to.

Your manly chest thumping would prolly be more effective if you weren't wearing your wife Manolos, princess. Just say'in.

Past any cogent argument when you start just making abusive comments up. (Of course you never started with a cogent argument.)

Enjoying your new friend, Cruel?

Personally I have found Friday's to get the best responses.

Thing is back when the 3 days was the norm I would submit n Tuesday night (then put my story in;)) and it would be up on Friday morning.

But now the times are more like 5 days and my last not only landed on Sunday, but later in the morning so it's a crapshoot these days.

Also despite what Safe bet says there is no way in hell Laurel is going to pay attention to a "release my story on this day note"

I agree that right now she is perfectly incoherent.

But she likes to fight fire with fire ;)

Oh, I enjoy how you correct my personal opinions. :D

I just countered with my own opinon (of course I think mine can be validated just by reading the forum and I think yours here are wishful thinking and based on having a "mad" on with me). But the bottom line is that I suggested you actually look for yourself, now didn't I?

I know you are trying so, so hard to make it all my fault. So, go for it.

Of course another bottom line here is that you asked a question, and I gave you a straightforward answer. (And, ultimately, you posted a personally abusive post.)

I'm sorry. :(

I've been kind of a jerk for the past day. Please forgive me.

Thanks. I've been pushed beyond my usual limitations too. (But I think I've been way within bounds in contrast to those who were gangbanging me yesterday--heavy on the personal abuse--and on what was really not an arms-and-legs point.)

But then folks are used to tolerating the over-the-top abuse I get here on the forum--without responding in kind. Sometimes I challenge it. I did, continually yesterday. I'll probably do it again the next time it becomes that abusive too.

Obviously being abusive here gives some the orgasms they come to an erotica site to get.

I'd also have to agree with Sunday being the least optimal day to have a story posted.

It's common to see a story do big numbers on the weekday, Friday, or Saturday, but I can't recall ever seeing a story do big numbers on a Sunday. Maybe people are back home from church and they want to behave themselves a little?

I used to think that weekends were the best for a story to be posted because it's the weekends. But the more I think about it, the less that seems to be true. People watch & read their porn mostly undercover, because of family and all that, so it can't be done as much. At least that's my theory.

And there was a legit study done before about how porn is mostly viewed during work hours on weekdays.

Untrue my friend.

I've done it many many times on a tip from Oedeplex. He gave me the tip to request that my story be released on a Friday so it gets more views.

Laurel (or whoever helps approve) is nice enough to oblige. I even asked her once if a story can be posted on an exact time, and she was nice enough to say that it can't, but she's happy to post on the day that you want.

The other benefit of it being posted on the exact day is that it goes up on midnight or so, rather than later in the morning, so it gets more views like that.
