If I were in that situation I would be able to do it. They key is to go really slowly. To start to say things that are not sexual in any way, but that give her an opening to respond in kind.

If she is interested, she will respond and keep the conversation going to it's eventual conclusion, but if she's not interested, then you can back away safely.

There are a number of ways you can start this. For example, if she's not dating anyone you can talk about that. Something like, do you miss not being in a relationship, things along that line.

Another approach is to tell her you have been thinking about her a lot. You could tell her that you have had a crush on her since you were a little kid, and that lately you have been thinking of her more. Keep it innocent like that.

Just go very slowly. If she's interested she will encourage you.
