Obama Says He'll Buy Chevrolet Volt

apparently, plenty to be had on the car lots......that said, I see a lot of Volts around here.......also there is a rush on to build these these stations to recharge the batteries, I wonder how that is going now....

There all over around here. Ruins the parking for us regular gas guzzling drivers. There's a bank of them in my office building garage. The spaces are all empty... .

I don't put many miles on my car. I'm sure it would cost me more on the electric bill than the less than $50 a month I spend on gas right now. Of course, I haven't filled my tank recently.

Treasury Admits What Everybody Already Knew:
Taxpayer Losses On GM Bailout Are Massive

JANUARY 30, 2012 AT 7:42 PM

The U.S. Treasury Department boosted its estimate of government losses in the $85 billion auto bailout by $170 million.

Last fall, the government dramatically boosted its forecast of losses on the rescues of General Motors Co., Chrysler Group LLC and their finance units from $14 billion to $23.6 billion.

In the government's latest report to Congress this month, the Treasury upped its estimate to $23.77 billion, up from $23.6 billion.

Can hardly wait to see how this latest news will effect taxpayers investment in Government Motors.

Of course, the failure of the Chevy Volt was caused by bad publicity ... and had nothing at all to do with exploding batteries.

Part of the Volt's problem is that GM has been producing junk for the past 20 years. Who in the hell is going to pay 40K for what everyone knows is a shoddy POS?
