If you consider yourself a Republican, I'd like to know your answer to the following questions, please. This is not me baiting you or anything, and I have no intention of arguing about it. I'm just taking the pulse of the GB Literepublicans.

1) Who of the realistically possible candidates would you like to see get the nod for POTUS/Veep?

2) Who do you think will actually be on the ticket?

Good question.

I think a lot depends on the outcome of today's vote. If Romney doesn't win Michigan or only wins by a small majority, it becomes more likely we'll see a brokered convention.

Given there's a lot of primaries yet to go, but Mitt just can't seem to shut down the 'not Mitt' vote. My guess is that he'll be the eventual leader in delegates, but not have enough to force the nomination, resulting in a brokered convention.

A brokered convention means it will be anyone's game, both for the eventual POTUS & Veep candidates.

I think that Vetteman inadvertently explained it very well a few weeks back. After 20+ debates, Authoritarian-Follower Vetteman has "no idea" who he'll vote for. He will let other Republicans make that choice for him (he's nervous about picking the wrong candidate, he's not dumb, he sees how much people are ridiculing Miles and his "Bachmann is a sure thing!" "Cain will be the nominee" blather)

Once the Republican candidate is selected for him, the Vettemans of the world will return in full-throated roar, claiming <insert name here> is a better choice than the negar incumbent.

No one who aspires to the presidency will (ok, should) consider candidacy at this point in time.

1) None of the current ones really excite me. I like the next generation coming up like Rubio, Ryan, Lee, and several others

2)Romney-boring, establishment, squishy, soft, electable, typical pol....

but way better than the incumbant prez.

I'm more concerned about what happens in the legislature. Senate inparticular, they can't even put a budget up for a floor vote. The first president to operate an entire term with no annual budget. But they somehow mange to still drive the country into debt at record pace.

The Chicago machine keeps eliminating the best candidates because they know they can't beat them.

I'm not a Republican, and it doesn't matter who they nominate none of them will win.

However, Romney is the only one that could be competitive. He then has to pick someone from a state he might lose otherwise...Minnesota Tim Pawlenty comes to mind and I think he came out and endorsed Romney when he dropped out.

Oh look! "Karen" has slithered out of the woodwork.

Got any good "gang rape" stories?

How about "dead twin sister" stories?

Did your wife ever get KRC's package detailin' your attempts to pass as a 27 year old twit here?

Excellent questions. I'd be more interested in Ken's answer to the last one than in the answers to the OP's questions.

No matter what we say here, I think Romney will be the candidate. And I hate to say it, but it won't matter who he picks as his running mate. I think the nation is dumb enough to vote Obama in for another 4 years.

It has nothing with being stupid. If the GOP can't put a viable candidate out there, they get what they get.

McCain/ Palin
Romney/ Jack-in-the-Box

What more needs to be said?

Romney got 41% of the vote but all that means is 59% voted for someone else.

Oh, please. Obama's the best Republican president we've had since Reagan.

1) Steven Colbert.

2) Some other guy.

Since the objective is winning

First answer to both would be Rubio

Second would be Christie

3rd out of the box would be an accomplished African American (which Obama is not) Condoleeza Rice

I kinda curious about where to find the Democratic candidates for this year's primaries.

 No, you're thinking of the Nixon Admin and the CREEP. They kept sabotaging the campaigns of all Dem candidates until there was none left standing but McGovern, who was judged easiest to beat in 1972. But the GOP candidates this year are solely responsible for their own destruction.
