I had my child out of wedlock, I chose not to marry her father

So women should have the right to opt out of parenthood (abortion/adoption) but men should not?

Both parents have to consent to adoption. A woman doesnt have the right to dump her child with its father and say "I dont want to be a mom, but I also dont want to give you any money to help shoulder the burden"

Do you not see the flaw in that? Once a child is born, the interest of the child, trumps that of both parents, it always has.

If a state said, "Men, you dont have to pay child support, the rest of the tax payers will do it for you". Do you think a large majority of men would pay anyway? Both people made the mistake of getting pregnant. Once the child is born, both people are required to be adults and take care of their responsibility.

Sweet Jesus. This is what you really think of men?

In 2007, 27.3% of custodial parents sought the government’s assistance collecting child support.

Among the 7.8 million custodial single parents who were awarded child support in 2007, only 46.8% received all of the child support money that was due.

29.5% of custodial parents received some of the money that was due.

23.7% received none of the child support money due.

57.6% of custodial parents received some form of non-cash child support in 2007.

You know those statistics might mean something if it included all men, you know, the kind who marry the the girl they knocked up or guys who pay without court orders, or guys who have no money but participate in their child's life by providing a housing, or child care duties, or a myriad of other things to enhance the quality of their child's life.

You asked what I thought of men, I thought that study shows, 30% of single parents sought assistance from the state in collecting support.

You cant opt out of parenthood. Once a child is born, you're a parent. Do I think men who dont want to be fathers should be forced to be there? No. But men who dont want to be fathers should wear a condom or get a vasectomy, you dont get the right to make a mistake, and not take the fallout too.

I like the classic style this arguement is made when applied to abortion,"If you didn't want to get pregnant you should have kept your legs shut whore!"

And when did 30% become a majority, especially when it doesn't include all men who impregnate women?
