People who riot over shoes at Foot Locker are not those we look to to gauge the economy.

You could be right but with the police saying there were several who were in line to pay $220 a pair some must be doing O.K.

Of course if you discount the 10 -15 million Americans who have been out of work so long they have stopped even looking the unemployment rate looks pretty good. This week only slightly less the 400,000 people lost their jobs. What a dramatic up turn in the economy. Color me impressed.

Assuming my old memory serves President Obama said if we didn't pass the stimulus was not passed in the next several days unemployment could reach 8%. The bill was passed quickly and within a short period of time unemployment was over 10%. The main reason it is below that now is so many have have given up looking. You ain't unemployed if you ain't looking.

How many of you have the majority of your money in the stock market vice in a bank account making around 1%?

Inflation has really been a bitch over the last several years. The price of most everything is up. You are paying the same for food and getting smaller portions or you are just paying more over all.

Things I have looked at over the last couple of years that are up.

Barley

Copper

Lumber

and a thousand more items.
