Writing Goal for the Day?

In honor of Valentine's Day, today's daily flash fiction words to use are "Heart, Arrow, and Love." Does it say something about me when the first story idea that came to my mind was a Western about a man named "One-Eyed Jack?" And the second story is in the Noir genre?

Any writing goal got passed over; something got to me this morning and instead of quiet writing time while waiting for PennGirl, I had to come home and then get sick. Sigh.

I managed to get 2 SRP posts taken care of, and 1600 words into the CD story I'm working on.

I'm hoping to add more to that tomorrow as well as answer one of the 2 SRPs again. For the rest of the night, it'll be togglin' between Lit., and adding to the Earth Day story and another longer mixed genre story.

Thanks and Mr Penn rose quite nobly to the occasion. He picked up PennGirl from pre-school, got her lunch, and even took her out for a little bit this afternoon so I could have some quiet time. Dinner was a little scattered as my stomach was still off and he had some work to catch up but all in all it was fine, and luckily I think this was just a one-off and not a virus. Maybe some writing later, who knows.

Mr Penn also handled Valentine's Day very well, considering I hadn't had time to do anything, and the one thing I did buy, he already had. Ah well. thoughts, right?

Tomorrow, my goal is to finish editing part two, and some of three. Usually I have a goal of 1,000 words a day, but by the time I get finished editing, my eyes cross.

Also, the second teen is still sick, so I'll be picking up a liquid cold medicine for her, since she's having trouble swallowing the Mucinex that normally works great. She's supposed to perform this weekend down in Indy, we'll see if that happens or not. If her throat is still sore and she is still sick, it ain't gonna happen.

I do hope you're righting about your adventure, and maybe if you're able you can send them here to Lit., as letters to the Letters/Transcript category. I know personally I would love to read about all your doing. I think it would be awesome to be able to do what you are doing.

Cool, I had two new stories show up overnight, giving me hope that maybe I'll be able to fit in enough submissions that I won't embarrass myself in the Survivor Contest.

"The Pegging of Mr. Carroll" (see sig for link) was the one that had kicked my butt for a while. I need to re-read it with fresh eyes, but it could be one of my technically best submissions as far as writing fundamentals go.

"A Piece of a Day" probably qualifies more as experimental, one of my shortest stories yet. Not sure how well it reads, though.

Meanwhile, I'm working hard on my latest story, another BDSM one. Like "Pegging," this one has been giving me challenges trying to get a handle on it. Today, however, it's turned the corner. Still, I hate writing three times the words than I finish with. We'll see. If I'm lucky, I'll submit it later today.

The last review of the ancient China Dirk Hessian novel back to the publisher--at last. Now on to the cleanup of a coauthored Stephen Kessel, to more PR work on my mainstream novel release, and to making reseravtions at more out-of-the-way B&Bs for an England crawl in the fall.

On my walk home, I have to pass TWO mom-and-pop pizzerias, both that cater to the colleges in town. That's going to be the bigger test: NOT stopping and picking up a slice of pepperoni and a diet Dr Pepper.
