From Wikipedia:
Social engineering is commonly understood to mean the art of manipulating people into performing actions or divulging confidential information.[1] While it is similar to a confidence trick or simple fraud, the term typically applies to trickery or deception for the purpose of information gathering, fraud, or computer system access; in most cases the attacker never comes face-to-face with the victims.

So, were you an unwitting victim? Internet "friends" too chummy? Do you web cam and/or IM with Internet "friends?" These are common ploys used to access your computer remotely. Not all Internet "friends" are fiendish, but some are. Will they strike immediately once they have your private data? Usually not. They milk the cow for as long as they can. Data mining is key focus area. Do yourself a favor and research the topic.

This has been a Public Service Announcement.

EDIT:
There could be a reason for the vast number of posts in a short period of time for any GBer, as well as the web cams and IMs.

GracefullyYours almost 4,700 post in a little over 60 days.

I don't trust anyone who can count themselves and not stop at one.

Data mining?

Like asking for rape details?

I never asked for details. Re-read that thread. I posted a poll only. Ye/No/Nun-ya were the only choices.

Now if you want to see data mining, you don't have to go very far.
