Anyone here believe America'd be doing better now, if McCain had won in 2008?

Well I suppose I could list sites with charts/graphs and all, that would say we did in fact add nearly 250,000 new jobs in January, but then you would say my sources weren't credible and list your own that completely disagree, and then I would say your sources are bogus...

Although, no matter the actual number .. I just cant understand anyone suggesting that we have more unemployed now then we had a year ago, or 2 or 3.

The monthly unemployment number is pure blabber. To get the real deal you gotta check the participation number. Participation has decreased from 67.5% to 63.7% since 2008. Thats about a 6 million person decrease.

Plus yuh gotta look at the demographics of who's getting hired. Two things are going on: 1) American companies are replacing middleage professionals with young Indians fresh outta college (where do they go to college? America!), and they work for 1/2 the money middleage people get, 2) older people are being fired in every industry and replaced with kiddies.

But let's give tax breaks to these same companies because "They create jobs"

Americans need to wake up and understand that Wall Street and the Elites are stealing their sinks and toilets and their dogs supper bowl.

The count might be a little smaller but he wouldn't probably spent a similar amount. I mean c'mon literally most of the first trillion that you accuse Obama of spending was spent by Bush and both McCain and Obama pushed for it. Even you're not claiming the economy would have been better so there's no reason to believe McCain wouldn't have extended unemployment or that there would be an increase in revenues. Which is also part of this equation I know we like to call it mostly for a lack of better word but maintaining what you already have on less income at the very least isn't NEW spending and again likely would have happened either way. McCain might have been smart enough to keep the wars off the official budget though and that would make it LOOK like he was spending less.

Economically, very doubtful we be better off but Obama real damage has been to the Supreme Court, we are poised to lose our freedoms under the guise of a "living Document" where you have no expectation of privacy, no right to defend yourself against the government, no right to keep what you earn and no right to be free of government or the collective.

It very clearly IS a living document. The Supreme Court JUST defended your expectations of privacy just a few weeks ago by requiring warrants before GPS tracking is allowed. Sure he hasn't been the champ in that area that a lot of us wanted and that frankly we need but the Patriot Act might very well be here to stay. You still have the right to defend yourself and to keep what you earn. You never should have had the option to be free of the collective while living with the collective anyway.

Is English like your third language?

What a pant-load

Maybe your rights depend on how others define words in context of political goals but not mine...you are just a fool.

Your rights depend on how others define the words both in context of political goals but also simple reality and changing times. You can claim you don't need it but when you get pulled over for simply driving down the street with the DUI check point on it it still effects you.

DUI checkpoints are unreasonable searches...just because you want to give away your freedom for a little false security does not make it reasonable...

I think the biggest difference would've been in jobs. While I wasn't a fan of McLame or his moronic VP pick, we'd still be destroying more businesses and ecosystems along the Gulf coast and the Keystone Pipeline project would be underway, sending jobs out of the country to Canada. Businesses hate stupid regulations and the current lack of hiring exhibits that.
^^^ Fixed your post.

Let's just outlaw DUI checkpoints in your city. Meanwhile what's the cost for a funeral director's license out there, anyway?

Society as a whole disagrees with you though. If DUI check points were unreasonable searches, which they technically aren't. Apparently since they announce them it gets past it on a technicality. Still I agree that they are unreasonable searches they've been going on for years and not once has it been deemed Unconstitutional. Sounds like that living document was interpreted don't it?

Besides I'm glad you can't go down the Wal-Mart and buy a grenade.

In my County Less that 1% of DUI arrest come from checkpoints...but over 50% county sticker violations come from them.

ill admit it i believe things would be better. obamas clueless hasnt run anything ever before the presidency so why anyone thought he could run it is beyond me

McCain hasn't run anything either.

Sounds like the slippery slope is getting near the cliff. And I am sure you will happy when no one can buy rifle or pistol ammo at Wal-Mart.

We're still drilling in the gulf you fool. The Keystone pipe is 20k temporary jobs over a couple years. Last month alone under Obama we put on 240k jobs.

I do think under McCain we would have had a stimulus, perhaps in the 500 billion range. It also would have been less effective than Obama's.

So you think 240K people were hired last month?

As fucked up as he was, he wouldn't have spent 5 trillion, and tried to socialize the country. I doubt there would have been any communists in his inner circle either.

He would have spent the same amount since he would not have cut Medicare, Medicaid, or defense. Low-information conservatives such as yourself tend to believe that Obama went out and bought 5 trillion worth of stuff but the fact is almost all of that amount is mandatory spending planned before Obama took office.

Sounds like that might be the "real" purpose. I always did wonder how many drunk drivers are actually caught/prevented by DUI check points vs how much it fucks up my drive home on the holidays since they always set them in fucking obnoxious places where it fucks traffic for miles.

Sounds like the slippery slope is getting near the cliff. And I am sure you will happy when no one can buy rifle or pistol ammo at Wal-Mart.

Not only the slippery slope argument generally silly it really depends on my mood if I'll be happy when/if it happens. This isn't the eighteenth century we aren't gonna rise up against the US military should it decide to turn on us and I don't want people floating around with the kind of equipment to make that plausible. I'm all for keeping your guns on days when I'm not doing math and realizing how many deaths we have a year because we wanna feel like big bad cowboys. More often I'm on team Cowboy though. My opinion will likely change again if I hurt my girlfriend's feelings too much cus she knows where I keep it and is a reasonably good shot.
