In context, or out of context, it was an incredibly stupid thing to say as a politician.

By saying that he does not care about poor people Mitt Romney is being honest, and he is appealing to the Republican base. They feel the same way, and they will appreciate it that he has the courage to come right out and say it.

Most Republican politicians would say that they do care about poor people, and that that is the reason they want to eliminate minimum wage laws and lower taxes for job creators.

You guys got folk spouting off about forcing people to carry and care for rape babies, and saying they're more concerned about the middle class- fuck the poor. No doubt, the lesser of two evils. Though he was for gun control, pro-abortion, pro-big government solutions. Hardly a conservative. The Democrats and liberals are promoting him because if they have to lose the election they want to lose it to a liberal. Same reason they promoted McCain's candidacy.
