Knowing that Mitt will more than likely be the next POTUS.

Pride goes before destruction. Jeb is all the GOPs got. He's smarter then Dubya but not any better. Laura Bush hinted that Jeb might be available.

I think Romney aint gonna go the distance once people start voting for real.

I think the GOP is gonna settle on Romney
This race would be tough to win for them no matter who
they put as a candidate, , the incumbent is always
difficult to unseat, and Obama has crowd appeal.

However I do see them keeping Jeb in a back
pocket and maybe even already planning to toss
him into the ring when Obama finishes his last term.

By then he will still have the Bush name recognition
and, I'm sure they are hoping, the negative feelings
that go with it will have faded enough to make him
more electable.

Why do you keeping bring up Jeb or any Bush for that matter? Neither are even close to the playing field.

How does that make everyone feel? Better? I think the American people want anyone except Obama at this point.

Probably not true, I think lots of sectors are completly dissatisfied with Obama for one reason or another, but these groups, Jews, african americans, will probaly vote for him again....go figure. Mitt needs to make his case to the country on why he would be better, I hope he gets that done.

Maybe next, as in '16

Damn sure don't want Mr. Bill's Ho, aka the current SoS.

According to the survey, if the November election were held today and Romney were the Republican presidential nominee, 48% say they'd vote for the former Massachusetts governor, with 47% supporting the president. Romney's one point margin is well within the poll's sampling error.
The poll also indicates Paul statistically tied with Obama, with the president at 48% and the longtime congressman at 46%. But according to the poll, the president is doing better against two other Republican presidential candidates. If Rick Santorum were the GOP nominee, Obama would hold a 51%-45% advantage over the former senator from Pennsylvania. And if Newt Gingrich faced off against the president, Obama would lead the former House speaker 52%-43%.

Romney is the worst status quo candidate possible...BushLite:rolleyes:

I agree
Mitt has H U G E hurtles to overcome .. with himself.
As Gingrich loves to point out, Mitt lost to Ted Kennedy before.
His polling with his own base has stayed fairly consistent
at around 20% , Herman Cain polled higher then that...

Looks like the $$ men are paying back Romney for his statist support of bailouts, TARP, etc...

...The Charlotte Observer today published its findings of federal campaign contributions, which found Romney received about $600K from employees of the 5 largest US banks through the first three quarters of 20011.

President Obama, the second-highest supported, received about $200K from the same top 5.

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who dropped out of the race in mid-August, was the second largest Republican receiver of bank employee money.

Romney received more from employees of those top five banks than all the other candidates combined, helping make the former Massachusetts governor the best-financed candidate in the Republican nomination battle.

The GOP best think twice about Mitt cuz enough conservatives will stay home and do lotsa damage to Congress and local races. Its happened before. With Romney leading the parade and the Rockefeller libs (Wall Street), conservatives will deny the GOP races across the land. So if Mitt goes to the convention with less than a majority of delegates look for Jeb to be drafted.

Screw Jeb and all the rest of the Bushes. That damn crime syndicate should be banned from the White House for all eternity. They've done far more than their share of damage to this world.

Latest poll today reveals Mitt would win the United States presidential election easily over Obama.

All the Newt supporters will vote for Mitt in the end, they made it clear today either republican nominated would be a better vote than Obama.

Obama is definitely out!! Hold on America real hope is on the way!

Good luck with that. Won't happen though and Mitt will mostly likely get the nod.

The polls being accurate or not don't really matter (I notice you're not producing these polls) because it's not like a majority vote gets you the win in America. If 51% of Californians and New Yorkers vote for Obama (and we will) you have to get damn near everybody else, it doesn't matter if 100% of Texans vote for Romney vs 51% of Californians.

Trust me in a few months. . .well you won't be apologizing, just like three years ago you'll pretend like it was a fluke and we didn't tell you so but still. Told you so.

In potential Election 2012 matchups, it’s President Obama 47% and Romney 41%. However, if Gingrich is his Republican opponent, the president holds a double-digit lead, 52% to 35%. That’s the president’s biggest lead over Romney since November and his largest advantage over Gingrich since October. (see tracking history). That’s consistent with the uptick in the president’s approval rating over recent months and an increase in consumer confidence Over the past week, the president has earned between 44% and 47% of the vote every day when matched against Romney. Against Gingrich, the president has earned from 47% to 52%. These matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update).

Oh ok, I guess the way the rest of America feels just flew over your head. Hate to break it to you but Obama has done nothing he promised to the voters 4 years ago.
In fact his radical behavior has even made the people of California nervous.

Obama has failed, big time. You can vote for him but it will not make one bit of difference.

 Is he a do-nothing or a radical?! He can't be both!

So even Rasmussen which skews hard right in their methodology has Obama over Mitt by 6 points?

Can't blame 'em for hoping. 10 months is forever in politics, anything could happen between now and November. But, my guess is it ain't gonna, the economy's gonna keep getting better slowly, and Obama's gonna win.

Here are a few of Obama's campaign promises from 4 years ago that you think he didn't keep:

Finish the war in Iraq
Wrap up war in Afghanistan (in progress)
Kill/capture/pursue Bin Laden
Institute Universal Health Care
Pass jobs legislation
Extend middle-class tax cuts (and those for the wealthy too)
Repeal DADT
Pass consumer protection legislation
Building more nuke plants
Reinvesting in community colleges and making them more accessible
Disposed of excess nuclear weapons
Reinvesting in the VA, including staffing it with the right number of mental health professionals
Ending the use of torture
Closed the Medicare donut hole
Required health care companies to cover people with pre-existing conditions and not drop them if they get sick
Expand S-CHIP eligibility
Tied the amount of aid to Pakistan to how serious they are in rooting out terrorists.
Reformed No Child Left Behind into something more useful to schools
Expanded Pell Grant for low-income college students
Added homosexuality into hate crime laws

Republicans are praying for economic failure in America. :( And if that doesn't happen they will try to re-write reality, saying that the economy is getting worse, even as unemployment starts dropping into the 7.9% range in the coming months.

Let's never forget that even as the economy was shedding -600,000 jobs per month Republicans were clamoring for not only no stimulus, but their Balanced Budget Amendment which would have led to millions more lost jobs and a Great Depression 2.0.

All Americans need to thank their lucky stars that the Democrats were steering the ship at the time.
